I'm the Titanium member of Marriott,Globalis of Hyatt,Diamond of Hilton,Yes ,I live in the hotels for abouot 180 nights every year in North America,Europe,Asia,Middle east.unfortunately,I am not the member of Accord. This review is for the top level hotel members,as we care about the same thing. For this hotel,I checked in at 11am of May 17,2025.the location is good, stclose to the train station, but if you have a 28'or 32" luggage,it is a problems to move from the station to the hotel, there are stairs.the room is very big and quiet, clean, the girls who help me checked in is very very good. both 4-5 stars. The whole service is terrible for Pullman hotel, this level of Accord hotels pullam I think is at the same level of Marriott Groups's Marriott,Hyatt's Hyatt Regency,Hilton group's Hilton.I gave 2 stars. The girls at the reception desk are very good ,But on the morning of 18th,6 AM,there are three young men at the reception desk,They saw me,but no one say hello, good by,or even smile to me,that is ok for me. the problem is that there is a carpet/doormat wrapped up by the female staff and BLOCKED the main door,I don’t know why,so I can not move my luggage through the main gate near by the reception desk to go outside. One man at the reception was keeping WATCHing me ,but no any help. no one help me.The serious problem is that on 17th evening,I had dinner in the hotel restaurant,I order the codfish, the main course, and they provide me a 70% raw fish, cold fish.In this world ,in Europe, all codfish i have ever had for a main course is well cooked fish, only the Salmon or Japanese food, the fish are served raw,but I know they are raw before I order. In France,in an international hotel,Pullman, for the main course, not starter,I was served raw fish, and the chef said this is the right .proper way they cook. Then I left a message to the hotel manager, till now,no anyfeedback, even try to learn what happened.so the managent is not good.

The best part, was leaving!||In summary:||NOISE NOISE NOISE|BAD FOOD|POOR SLEEPING CONDITIONS|A/C ISSUES |INADEQUATE RESTAURANT HOURS|EPIC ROOM SERVICE FAILURE|ROOM SANITATION ISSUES|DISREGARD FOR GUEST HEALTH |LACK OF ATTENTION TO DETAILS||I chose it because it was close to the train station, was listed as having soundproofed rooms, had high ratings, and the photos looked good. But there are issues, some of which are not possible to fix (like design and construction) that make it unsuitable. ||First and foremost, is the noise. It was listed as a soundproofed hotel. The exterior windows are, you can’t hear anything. I live in a major city, so that wouldn’t have bothered me. It’s the noise within the hotel that’s is the problem! The problem is that it’s an echo chamber now with the soundproofed exterior windows, and exposed cement walls and ceiling. Every single sound in the hotel is amplified 100x. I can hear the elevator going up and down up and down all day and night, the neighbors conversations through the bathroom walls and ventilation system. I can constant toilet water being flushed down the buildings pipes, the upstairs neighbors tossing and turning in their beds, and…is that fingernails tapping on windows (what the heck is that?). I can hear the children running marathons in the hallway. I can hear the unit next to mine and their doors slamming all day and night. I can hear the person in the restroom above me exploding in the WC, the maid service 5hrs a day. I’ve attached a short audio clip so you can hear some of what I got to experience. ||The air conditioning/fan doesn’t work well. Actually, I’m not sure it really controls anything. 21-23 Celsius, that’s it for options. The room was either stifling hot or freezing cold. No in between. At night, the system appears to just shutoff if there’s no one walking around the room. Couple that with a ridiculous thick comforter - which also functions as the bed’s only sheet, meant that I was suffocating in the bed by 2:00am, and if I pulled back the comforter, then I froze. Had to take a sleeping pill just to get 4hrs of rest. ||Couldn’t enjoy the breakfast buffet because of the incredibly ill child. Who proceeded to cough, NON-STOP, with his mouth wide open, no attempt to cover it, no intervention from the parents, no mask, all while walking all around the buffet food. Not a single member of the restaurant staff, the hotel front desk, NO ONE did anything to stop it. No offer to serve them in their room, or request to simply to leave for the other guests comfort and health. ||Meanwhile, every table in the restaurant is irritated, glaring at the kid and the parents. So 100+ hotel guests are now being exposed to RSV, Influenza, Covid, or whatever illness this kid has b/c the hotel refused to act to safeguard the health of the rest of their guests, and their own staff. 100+ people exposed because of one kid. Absolutely disgusting. Out of the entire buffet, I had one croissant and a yogurt before getting as far away from that incubus of viral plague as I could. ||The next morning I ordered room service breakfast, using the QR the hotel advertised all over your room, so I could avoid the same sick kid again. Over an hour later and still no food has come. I called the restraunt and they tell me they don’t see my order, even though I have it on my screen. So they blind-transferred me to the receptionist. Who I then have to explain again that I ordered at 8:37am and it’s now over an hour later and the restaurant has no record of my order. Her reply, “well that’s because our app didn’t confirm your order yet.” That’s less than helpful, and under the category of I don’t care what your excuse is. Your job is to deliver my order, and I submitted it through your app and it shows that I did too. Don’t tell me it didn’t do what it was supposed to and leave it at that. Fix it. You tell everyone to use this stupid app that doesn’t even work, and I’ve been sitting here waiting for over an hour to hear ‘oh the app doesn’t work’. What?! So I ate some stroopwaffles I had left from the train station - that I had to go to get lunch yesterday b/c you weren’t serving lunch either, on a public holiday. Ridiculous. So after paying for two buffet breakfasts, what I got a croissant and yogurt for 56euros. ||In terms of cleanliness. I don’t know where these reviews of ‘meticulously clean’ are coming from. Attached are photos of the food scraps that were still on my floor from the previous guest(s), the fingerprints on the mirrors, the filthy windows, the food stained carpets. Not pictured are the empty soap dispenser in the shower. I’m glad I didn’t drink out of the glasses in the bathroom. ||Back to food - because it was such a disaster. I went to the restaurant for lunch on my second day at 3:00pm, and although there were people sitting in the restaurant, they told me they stopped serving lunch at 2:00pm. Great. It’s a public holiday too, so now what. Everything is closed and you’re not serving your guests food. That’s just fantastic. Hey quick question, do you know of any decent hotels in this city? Preferably ones that serve food to their guests. No? Okay. Do you have water, or is that only available from 1:15pm - 1:30pm, on Wednesdays, in June on even number years. But not next year, because you’re closed for a special event. ||This on top of the fact that the day before, I went to the bar to have dinner at 5:00pm, you know, when the world stops work and goes home to eat…or traveling hotel guests may consider eating dinner. That same 5:00pm. She acts shocked! The look on her face is OMG how could someone want dinner at a hotel at 5:00pm, that’s just crazy! And tells me dinner doesn’t start until 7:00pm. You know, you’re a hotel, right? A travel hotel - right next to major train station. You’re supposed to be 4 Star (allegedly). You’re supposed to be able to provide your guest with food when they want it. ||The second night I went to the restaurant for dinner. I waited until 7:00 this time. I ordered a burger (at this point I was pretty food deprived and looking forward to it). I also ordered the guacamole and plantain chips, and a drink. Howard disappointing. The guacamole had no flavor, and there were only a few chips to go with a mountain of guacamole. That’s fine for me, I’m only eating for one, but if this had been a family traveling, they would have been fighting over who gets the last chip. Then my burger came. Only, it wasn’t a burger. It was some fried chicken cutlet topped with a ridiculous amount of mayonnaise… something, and sitting on top of another 1/2” of something else disgusting looking. I scrapped it all off ate a few bites of the flavorless “burger”. The waiter and comes back as I’ve clearly stopped eating and am ready to go, sees all the uneaten food and questions if everything was okay. LOL. Yeah, it was fantastic dude. That’s why I left 95% of it on the plate. ||The gym needs exercise balls. Not a fan of these multi-function machines that don’t actually workout anything correctly. Luckily, I had t really consumed any calories that needed to be burned off though. ||There is a Speed Queen laundromat 900ft from the hotel that is brand new, with excellent touch screen operated machines, all which worked flawlessly, WiFi, and a credit card payment terminal, along with clear instructions in English. Which is good because the hotel is charging guests 11 EUR per item to wash/dry.||The minibar had virtually nothing it. After my sad dinner I thought I might grab something to drink. Nope. Nothing to drink in it. I went for a bottle of water instead, but as soon as I touched it I realized it was covered in some disgusting slick/slime layer. I don’t even want to know what that was, so I put it back and washed my hands.||I forwarded a printout to the hotel for my train ticket, and three hours later, it still hadn’t been printed. I had to show them the email to get them to find it and print it off. This on top of the fact that when I went downstairs, there wasn’t anyone around. No one at the concierge desk, and no one at the front desk. ||So…if you’re deaf, like sleeping in a stagnant hot box, don’t need or like water, food, or sleep, and, love catching other people’s diseases, then this is the...

(June 13–16, 2025) Location and Accessibility The Pullman Hotel Lyon’s location is a double-edged sword. While it is conveniently situated next to the main train station, making arrivals and departures by rail effortless, ongoing construction in front of the hotel made it extremely difficult to access by car. Navigating the area was frustrating, and the lack of clear signage or guidance compounded the issue.

Check-In Experience The front desk area was consistently crowded during our stay. This led to long waits and a sense of disorganization, detracting from what should be a smooth, welcoming arrival process. For a hotel in this price range, a more efficient and attentive check-in experience is expected.

Cleanliness and Odors Despite the Pullman Lyon being a relatively new and visually appealing facility, significant issues with cleanliness and odors overshadowed the positives. The hallways frequently smelled of trash, and the bathrooms in our room had a persistent sewage odor. This juxtaposition—a stylish, modern hotel with such unpleasant smells—was frankly baffling and unacceptable for a property of this caliber.

Response from Staff When we raised these concerns with the staff, the only solution offered was to spray perfume to mask the odors. This response felt inadequate and dismissive, failing to address the root of the problem or provide a satisfactory resolution.

Room Comfort On a positive note, the beds were comfortable, and the room itself was well-appointed. The hotel’s facilities appear new and, aside from the odor issues, are designed to a high standard.

Overall Impression While the Pullman Hotel Lyon boasts a prime location for train travelers and offers modern comforts, the persistent issues with cleanliness and odor, coupled with an underwhelming response from staff, make it difficult to recommend—especially at this price point. Until management addresses these fundamental problems, travelers may be better served by choosing alternative...
