DO NOT EAT HERE. Complete scam of a place. Service and food way under par and overinflated prices. My 2 friends and I came here to have appetizers and drinks. We ordered a large dish that we intended to share and an aperol spritz and some bottled water. The dishes were super over priced for what they were. The servers were extremely rude from the moment they saw we were young adults and seated us in the corner. The server then whispered something in French to another waiter and came back saying we need to order 1 dish per person minimum, which was 100% an arbitrary rule to scam young travelers that don’t know better. When my friend who got her drink said okay then we’ll leave when she finishes her drink, he got upset and started acted really cold to us all. He immediately brought her the check so she could pay and make us leave as soon as possible so he could turn over the table faster for a quick buck. She payed and he started his tantrum of which he came back 4 times to berate us. She was finishing her drink when he overheard me saying I was thinking of leaving a bad review with my phone out on the Google reviews page up. He started yelling at my 2 friends who knew French saying “how are you going to expect 5 star service when you order water”, he when on to say I was psycho in French, all the while none of us responded because he seemed like a very ego driven small man that would use any sort of response to further continue his freak out. He said I was a bad person for leaving a review and stood over our table to continue to yell at my friends for not spending more money?? It was so out of line. I have been a service worked all my life and cannot even imagine treating a customer - let alone another human in that way! Completely insane. Someone told us that they pay people to leave good reviews or offer them dessert in exchange for a good review. Complete scam of a place preying on tourists for easy money. Could not recommend less. Also here’s a picture of the man yelling at us about...

The worst service experience during our 9-day trip in France — rushed, rude, and borderline discriminatory.

We visited Le Stanley and were extremely disappointed — not with the food, which was decent, or the other waiters, who were polite — but with one specific male waiter with slicked-back hair whose behaviour was shockingly unprofessional.

From the beginning, he was unfriendly and cold towards us. Perhaps because we don’t speak French? But if that’s the reason — why run a restaurant in a tourist area at all? If you’re going to discriminate against non-French-speaking travellers, maybe just put up a sign: “Tourists who don’t speak French are not welcome.” We were polite and respectful the entire time, yet were treated with arrogance and hostility.

The service overall felt extremely rushed, as if they were desperate to turn tables quickly. Even before we had dessert, this waiter came over without a word and removed our water glasses and drinks — which still had about one-third left. He didn’t even ask whether we had ordered dessert. Were we being cleared out just to flip the table faster?

When we reminded him we hadn’t finished, he gave us a cold look and walked away. Later, when we asked for another bottle of water, he slammed it onto the table and left without a word — completely disrespectful.

Again, the food was okay and the rest of the staff were fine. But this one waiter’s behaviour left a terrible impression and made this our worst dining experience in France.

Not recommended if you expect to be treated with basic courtesy — especially...

★★☆☆☆ 2/5 – Disappointing and Overpriced Experience at Le Stanley

Sadly, my experience at Le Stanley was not worth the high price tag. I paid €50 for just a beer, a 125ml glass of rosé, and a bottle of water which they brought to the table but didn’t even bother to open. For that price, I expected a much higher level of care and professionalism.

The food was also disappointing. I ordered fritters that were meant to include anchovies, but they were so bitter they were completely inedible. I asked to replace the dish with calamari or prawns, but instead of preparing something new, the kitchen simply removed the anchovies and brought back the same dish. It felt careless and dismissive.

To make matters worse, the waiters were defensive and unhelpful, offering justifications rather than a proper solution. The attitude came across as indifferent, which only added to the frustration.

While the location might be nice, the poor service, subpar food, and overpriced drinks made this a very disappointing visit. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t...
