I had dinner with my parents today at this restaurant. The Food was great. I was truly impressed. My Mothers cocktail was nice. I had a mocktail which I think was fine. My Mother and I had a seafood plate, my Father had oysters and shrimps. I liked the seafood plate a lot. Everything just tasted so good. I personally really enjoyed the cooked vegetables. I tried my fathers oysters and I loved it! I can recommend anybody these who likes oysters in general. I was a bit skeptical but it turns out I truly enjoyed them. Our waiter was a young man with brown eyes and hair with tattoos (I don’t know his name). He was very friendly and polite. I think his service really had an impact of my experience at the restaurant. In a positive way of course. Really likable person! I’d love to give five stars for service but kitchen was busy which made us wait a little longer for our drinks and food. The restaurant overall had an inviting atmosphere. I like the leaves and plants on the walls. Overall a charming restaurant with kind staff. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to eat delicious seafood in Menton.

Lovely restaurant in Menton!! First of all, I was able to comfortably book through google message - their reply was incredibly swift and kind, and it meant that I could book for dinner within 10 minutes without too much of a hassle. Secondly, their set menu is SUCH A GOOD DEAL! 49€ for amuse bouche + appetizer + main + dessert is already spectacular, even more so if you think that the appetizer is a platter of 6 incredibly fresh oysters. Both me and my partners ate super well, everything was fresh and tasty. The only dish I didn’t love was the seafood pasta, but then again it was probably my fault getting pasta in france which is not their forte. Everything else - seafood platter, branzino, gazpacho etc. - was fantastic. Another positive note was service! Luca (or Lucas?) was so so cute with us, very attentive and even spoke Italian to my partner who doesn’t speak French. Will definitely be back :)

The atmosphere is good, nice plates (although they told us that if our kid breaks sth we must pay a lot?!-great to start a dining experience) but the waiters could not care less, maybe they know Menton is a touristic place and they would not see us again? I mean we ordered the menu and when the main dishes came, a young waiter brought us two additional plates, one stacked on top of the other. He just let them in our table, one on top of the other and left without saying anything. Was it for bones or shells? No one understood, only one person had taken the paella where that was necessary. On top of the upper plate were two disinfectant hand towels, although we were 5 people? The entry was a plate of cold appetizers and supermarket salad leaves without dressing or olive oil. The two small pies were good though. Main dish I took steak which was chewy and hard to cut. The potatoes and didn’t want to imagine in what kind of reused oil they were fried. To finish up I had ordered the chocolate cake with ice cream and what came was a small water glass of one ball of half melted icecream with whipped cream and chocolate sirup and perhaps a thin slice of some kind of chocolate or brownie at the bottom? I m not sure. Perhaps taking the menu was a bad choice? Anyway it kind of ruined our Menton experience. On the way to the car 5-10 mins of walking from there, we saw many other restaurants where locals seemed to dine, perhaps one must search more and avoid this tourist trap.

We came for the infamous Bouillabaise fish soup, which we'd ordered a day earlier - which the head waiter forgot to mention when he scribbled my name on a piece of paper. Came back the night after - they had forgotten our reservation but a waitress remembered my face and we were urgently seated in the full restaurant at a..... not so nice, crowded table. Waited about 20min for the menu, ordered a starter...+ "the fish soup we ordered yesterday, you know"...huh? was the answer. Anyway, we finally got it, but it was absolutely not the delice I remembered from two years ago. The soup was brown and thin. It contained small fish fillets that were undercooked and had little or no flavour. Drowned in mayonnaise and croutons....We ate about 1/4 of this expensive dish for two. Waited another 25 minutes while the restaurant apparently closed at 21:15. The staff were chatting, fooling around, talking to a friend or making fun of each other. We finally had dessert ....no biggie. In tourist-filled Menton, this apparently popular restaurant needs to concentrate on CUSTOMERS and the general quality of their expensive food!

My sister and I visited Les Enfants Terribles after looking at lots of other options in Menton. We were quickly seated and given menus, and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and decoration. It was very busy which is usually a good sign. In fairness our drinks were brought out quickly, however after we received our drink we struggled to flag down a member of staff to order our food. We were waiting approximately half an hour to order our food. Fair enough it was busy, however the issue was with the fact that we asked staff multiple times if we could order and were told some variation of ‘it’s not your turn yet’. The food looked lovely and at one point when the table next to ours food came me and my sister were looking at it, as you would, and our waitress quite snappily said ‘yours is coming don’t worry’. Overall food was nice, nothing to write home about, we just weren’t made to feel comfortable by the staff. We wouldn’t choose to come here again as generally the service and food was below average for this price point. Bill came to over €30 each for one main and one cocktail.

This review should be read in two parts. Some of it was a good experience, and some of it was not. The overall review, however, reflects the last part, because that was the experience we left the restaurant with. The first part was with oysters and champagne. Sweet female waiter who left us feeling welcome. The champagne tasted good and our oysters were definitely fresh. The second part, which was our main course, was served by male waiters who reflected that they did not want to provide a good waiter experience, being a tourist tired so early in the season seems alarming. My seafood paella was dry, like it was put together from leftovers from the day before. One of the large clams was completely closed, and with the risk it may contain, should never have been served. Not a single waiter stopped by the table to ask if everything was okay. Bad lunch experience at an expensive restaurant.
