Alma Goût Méditerranée - Villefranche — Restaurant in Nice

We went to Alma for lunch with a reservation but the guy just randomly sat us without asking so not sure you need one. Then we sat and we waited around 10 min for the menus afterwards another 10 min for someone to take our order although the place was not packed. Then when we ordered the guy told us that the plat du jour comes with starter and desert which turned out later that it is either starter or desert. Then the main dish took around 45 min to come out while my wife got her starter and plate earlier and finished all her food, we kept asking but they ignored the request. Then at the end when we told them that there was a problem the guy claiming to be the manager said that the waiters are unprofessional here and we should have not dealt with them. Not sure what kind of institution this is to employ people who are rude to customers and managers who talk about the team members. The food was not bad nothing special but it was flavorful at least. Lovely place with such a wonderful sea view over the Villefranche-sur-mer bay and Saint Jean Cap-Ferrat. The restaurant is built on an upper terrace which actually makes the difference with the other restaurants all around. You can enjoy your meal and company without the cars driving next to you.

There is a really friendly, nice and attentive service and the food is wonderful. Perfect to share. Great quality products, properly treated and respected. Reasonable portions which allows you to try a lot of the options when sharing it with friends and family!

Really felt welcomed like at home and it is a place where I feel proud to bring my closest people !

Truly recommended. Quality price ratio is definitely the best in Villefranche plus that terrasse and views… no point to go somewhere else!!

We have a second home in Villefranche and have our usual favorite spots we go to but decided to try a new spot - Alma. Great location, lovely design (fabrics, furniture, lighting), staff were friendly… BUT that meal was the worst food we’ve had in a long time. I feel terrible writing this bad review, but the food was so awful. We were a group of 6 and we all agreed it was not good. My eggplant caviar was inedible, and the falafel Cesar salad was the most random mix of ingredients (not in a good way), the boys had the fish soup and said it was not good. They also only had 2 waiters and the food came out extremely slowly making the whole experience even more painful. Such a shame because all the restaurants serve Italian food here and we wanted something different, but I think we’ll just have to enjoy a drink next...
