Luca Polare • ლუკა პოლარე — Attraction in Tbilisi

I visited around half an hour after the stated opening time. Upon approaching the cafe desk, making it clear that I would like to place an order, I was totally ignored by the staff. I observed that they were still making efforts to prepare the stall, and being the only customer in the cafe, I decided to sit and wait for them to invite me to make my order. Having waited for 20 minutes, a new customer entered, approached the desk, and was seen to immediately by the staff. I decided to return to the desk, and was then served. Despite having now been waiting in the cafe for nearly half an hour, upon taking my order, the staff took another order immediately after me, served that customer, and only then began to prepare my order. At no point was I offered any sort of pleasantries by the staff, and in fact when my order was finally prepared, all I received was a limp nod in the direction of my order, which was on the other side of the checkout. This was my second visit to the cafe, having visited previously the day before. When giving my order, I was met with strange laughter and an exchange between the staff which at the time I merely brushed off as I was not privy to the language; being a visitor from abroad. I was beyond dissatisfied with the service I received from this cafe, and will certainly not be visiting again. The service is bad from some peers here ... Could be better. Some racism exists for the service that's why the 2 stars. Once their tbc machine was not working and it declined my pay and I was explaining to her that I had on my account but she decided to assume I didn't. I told her to let others pass already before me - then that Georgian woman also had a Tbc and it didn't work and she said something in Georgian like yeah it's your machine apparently. And then they made her pay on BOG and it worked so it did for me. Very bad racism exists and bad assumptions.

Food is ok. Not the best but pretty close to what we are used to in our own countries.

Atmosphere: 1 star because there is a beeping sound that doesn't shut off. It's so annoying and high pitched you'd have to wear noise canceling earphones at all times.

Today I came in the tables were super unclean and I had to throw someone else's garbage to sit on a table. This should be done by the customers but if the customers left, means this should be done by employees and not the next customer.

This ice cream cafe is best place to visit with children. Beyond variety of very good ice cream assortment it offers good collection of coffees including decaf which is not so frequent in Tbilisi. Place is usually very busy at week-ends. Recently it became possible to have sandwiches and small salads as well. But I think the biggest benefit of that Luca Polare is the fact that this is traditional gathering place for friends and opportunity of amusing communication. Service personnel is very welcoming they always smile even when have long queues, they speak good English and acceptable Russian .
