St. Magni Kirche — Attraction in Brunswick

Very pretty old church set in stunning surroundings. Located in an area that seems to have escaped much of the destruction large parts of the city suffered, it’s like stepping back in time. Plenty of old half timbered houses and nice serene gardens and flower beds, there’s also a nice open square next to it, bordered by lots of shops and cafes. Z zewnątrz Kościół zachwyca w wewnątrz jednak już jest bardziej surowo, szczególnie dla katolików z Polski przyzwyczajonych do przepychu w świątyniach. Ja miałem to szczęście, że w październiku trafiłem na koncerty organowe organisty tej parafii Hansa- Dietera Meyer - Moortgata, który zagrał utwory 17 października Franciszka Liszta a 24 października romantyków francuskich: Cesara Francka, Leona Boellmanna, Marcela Dupre i słynną Toccate z V symfonii Charlesa - Marie Widora. Wstęp był bezpłatny ale po takim koncercie większość rzucała datki na tace, na rozwój muzyki organowej w tym pięknym miejscu. Warto do St. Magni zajrzeć 7 listopada o 17 odbędzie się tu koncertu chóru kameralnego z Wolfsburga, wstęp wolny oczywiście datki...

Wir sind im Rahmen einer Abendwanderung mit Hugo dem Nachtwächter in die St. Magni Kirche gelangt. Hugo ist von zu Hause aus Architekt und kann so sehr viel interessantes berichten und er tut es auch noch sehr sehr unterhaltsam. Die Wanderungen sind freitags abends um 20 h und sie starten beim Städtischen Museum im Magniviertel. Hugo besitzt auch einen Schlüssel zur Kirche. Er erzählt natürlich nicht nur von der Kirche sondern auch viel von den umliegenden Häusern...
