Insgesamt hat mir die Ausstellung gut gefallen und ich kann sie weiterempfehlen. Dennoch hätte ich mir gewünscht, dass auf die religiösen Umstände und Luthers damalige Rolle in diesem Kontext noch mehr eingegangen wäre.

Auf die Sonderausstellung war ich besonders gespannt, sie hat mir noch besser gefallen als die eigentliche Hauptausstellung. Gerade auch, weil die Vergangenheit der Stadt Eisenach damit aufgearbeitet wurde und vieles durch die Visualisierung und mein Vorwissen einfach Greifbarer war. Außerdem habe ich viel Neues dazulernen dürfen. Aber ein großes Manko bleibt: Es wurde zwar am Ende der Hauptausstellung und auch in einem kleinen Exkurs in der Sonderausstellung erwähnt, dass Luther besonders im Alter viele problematische Aussagen im Hinblick auf das Judentum getätigt hat, eine zufriedenstellende Darstellung/Aufarbeitung erfolgte jedoch nicht. In der Ausstellung selbst wird Luther sehr einseitig betrachtet. Für eine ganzheitliche Betrachtung/Bewertung seiner Person/seiner Werke ist es wichtig zu wissen, dass Luther von Beginn an kein "Judenfreund" war und seine Geringschätzung gegenüber diesen Menschen mit zunehmendem Alter wuchs. Mir kommt diese Seite Luthers zu kurz und ich persönlich hatte den Eindruck, dass L. in der Ausstellung glorifiziert wird. Gerade in der heutigen Zeit ist es umso wichtiger, alle seine Schriften/Aussagen zu studieren und sich ggf. davon zu distanzieren. In jedem Fall sollte dem Unterthema mehr Raum gegeben werden und es nicht bloß stiefmütterlich in einer Ausstellung behandelt werden!
