I’ve been here a number of times with my colleagues and the food is always good. I’ve never had a problem with the service (although coworkers have mentioned issues) until tonight. First, I took a seat at a table in the main dining room. The only tables available were large, but common practice in Germany is to share tables so I thought nothing of it. I was told to move to the back room where I was alone. This was 5:00 pm, mind you. There was no shortage of space. Fine. I’m just going to eat quickly and leave, as one dones when eating alone.

When the gentleman came to my table, I told him my order straightaway. Again, I’ve been there enough to know what I want. I ordered a soup, main, side and water. I obviously wasn’t being cheap. I had the remainder of a to-go tea I’d brought in. The man said “You know, outside drinks aren’t allowed here. This is a restaurant.” I pointed out that I’d been there a number of times and had just ordered a substantial meal, so what if I brought the rest of my tea from the hotel? He started making racist comments “Well, the Chinese people come in here all the time and order hot water so they can use their own tea.”

Wow. So BOTH men working their treated me poorly within minutes of each other and then the older man thought it was okay to be racist. I left. I’ll...

Whereas the dishes were delicious and the atmosphere was cheerful, the customer service was not acceptable. As it was a family dinner, we occupied a table for seven guests and were without even being greeted attacked by the waiter. Because of our Korean appearance, he remarked us as “Chinesen und solche...” and aggressively warned us that we are obliged to order a meal per each guest. That "Chinese and such" usually think that it’s normal to order one dish for 3 or 4 people and that this will not be tolerated because we need to pay for the space that we occupy. After a long trip everyone was starving to try his or her OWN PORTION of their specialities, but after being treated that way our appetite was gone. When taking the order, the waiter even counted the ordered dishes and was checking the number of guests at our table. We were treated degradingly and, therefore, even considered leaving the restaurant. I understand that customers can sometimes be really hard to handle, especially when coming from diverse cultural backgrounds. But making assumptions and generalising on the hand of our appearance is a clear case of racism, which we encountered often during our trip...

RUDE ATTITUDE EVER! I rarely write any reviews but i really do want to share my experience this time. My hubby and I am from Canada, we went to Europe for vacation this Summer. The awful experience we got would never be forgotten. Because we only stayed in Frankfurt for 2 days, my hubby was really want to try the pork hock, so we picked the closest place to our hotel, which is this restaurant. We got in at 9pm only to try the pork hock. We sat down and order one dish and one drink. However, i believed it's the owner, he warned us that we needed to order a full meal per person. Considering i was a petite size woman and already ate my dinner (i told the owner as well), i could not eat anymore. We smile and explained we were tourist and would like to try the dish even we were full, but he still said "this is not funny, how could 2 people come in and order one meal only?" in a very bad attitude and kept going on to insult us. We could not comment the taste of the food there because after being treated that way our appetite was gone. we had been stayed in Europe for 3 weeks and this is the...

This restaurant is nice looking restaurant but they never asked me for order when but people after me came inside the waiter immediately helped people and give the menu. I didn’t even able to see the menu and the restaurant wasnt busy . I was there for Dec132018 about 9:00pm I stayed there for over 20mins. They have already known I was waiting for orders. they looked me a few times. As a result I looked for reviews if someone else had same experience. There were some reviews similar to my experience and all people were Asian. I strongly don’t recommend if you were ASIAN. Also I realized there were all white people except me. I really disappointed with this restaurant. Once a again I do not recommend to go this restaurant if you were Asian

This was pure German soul food in a typical environment. I had the typical "Gruene Sosse" which is basically potatoes, eggs and a cold sauce. This was the best thing that happened to me for months.... simple, honest and so delicious. The interior is absolutely traditional, means you will experience the real deal. I noticed some reviews mentioning rude staff... Well, I can only praise the polite service. I'll definitely be back!
