Fischimbiss Schabi — Restaurant in Hamburg

I come to this place when I visit Hamburg and that is twice a year. Since five years Icoming here was an enjoyment experience aside from it's simple look and Imbiss type but the food was and still good. Unfortunately, today I was surprised by the portion size, the potatoes and salad that comes alongside the plate. Since I normally pay by card, Schabi only accept cash, I hardly had enough. I always love the Mix plate which used to be 16 after Corona and now I was surprised that it is 20 €. So I ordered Salmon which taste really good, yet the portion was much less than before. The salad had hardly any tomatoes and mostly lettuce. The potatoes was so thin that it was like chips. After finishing I felt that I had toget up to let someone else sit. So I now come to an Imbiss, pay almost 20 € for the plate, and hardly spend 20 minutes sitting on a bench. Food was delicious, but I was shocked to see they cook both fish and seafood on the same place. I am allergic to seafood and shellfish, like many people, and as a general rule, they should be cooked and handled separately. If I had not seen them cooking all together, I could have eaten my fish and ended up in the hospital. So, not really safe and professional. Good fish, good price, very kind and heartfelt service.

Very good staff and the owner. Their attitude was even better than the food. I got the fish sandwich with Salmon, salad and fries. They put some sauce as well. It was very tasty.

Honestly, I was sceptical about going to a fish place at night, near closing time thinking it would be not so fresh however I was very satisfied with my purchase, had no stomach problems afterwards, and the food was delicious.
