Recommendation - just go and get lost here one sunny day!

Nice route idea is to start from upper part of Blankenese, around Hessepark, then you go down to Elbestrand through Treppenviertel. On Elbe its possible to catch a bus to drive couple of stops and go out to explore other Blankenese parks (really beautiful and steep landscapes too!) or go straightaway up.

All in all, Treppenviertel is a super place to enjoy Elbe views and explore numerous tangled cute streets. Felt like I'm not in Hamburg anymore, and not even in Germany... (The streets should be in strict order in Germany, no? 😉) It reminds southern coastal towns, but has its own...

Beautiful part of hamburg with stairs and small cafés along the beach and at the top.

A small bus line starts at S Blankenese and goes to the various parts of the area, so if you're exhausted you can just take a bus back.

At the top there is a hotel / restaurant with a wonderful view but also a café one street lower.

Overall definitely a place you want to visit if you are spending some longer time in Hamburg and want to do a...

Definitely my happy place! Reachable it the S1 towards blankenese, it's worth the day trip outside of Hamburg for locals and also visitors. It's a really beautiful and quiet place to walk around and can also stop by the water for fischbrotchen, grab a coffee or beer, and also check out the nearby city centre and gardens. Overall beautiful place with enough to do for...

From the Blankenese Train Station you need to walk about 5 minutes before you find the first flight of stairs (there is more than one). The flights are usually narrow, I can imagine it can feel a little crowded in the summer. You can walk along the Elbe and get very nice views of Blankenesen from the shore. Nice place to visit (located in the westernmost part of Hamburg)
