There is a small parking lot at the base and a large free one at the very top. At the top, there is a viewpoint, a restaurant, lots of interesting marked forest trails and a falconry with shows. We did a combination by parking for free at Königstuhl, walked the 2km Walderlebnispfad for children,climbed down on the Himmelsleiter to the castle (25 minutes) and then on marked paths further down to the city, walked the main street and had lunch, took the bus 39 from Bismarckplatz back to the parking at Königstuhl. The steps are rather steep, uneven and broken in several places and could be slippery if wet. Not to be undertaken unless in good physical condition. No views as such on this climb, the climb up or down is the experience in itself. There are free clean toilets outside the restaurant/cable car...
