Built in the 1900’s as an observation tower, the view at the top of the villages was awing. Local American military stories state that during 1933-1945 the tower was used by Adolf Hitler as a podium to speak to the Nazi Youth. The youth barracks are approximately 400meters South from the tower and are still used as barracks for US Army soldiers. I found it interesting to see a stone memorial for German selenographer, Philipp Fauth. This area is neat and historical. Must visit site and FREE! Thumps up if you found this...
Read moreGreat hidden gem not far from downtown landstuhl. We sandwiched this between a playground visit and lunch with our 5,3, and 1 year olds. We drove all the way to the car barrier gate and from there it was a 5ish minute walk. The baby was worn and the 3 year old had to be carried part of the way up the trail and part of the way up the steps, though she has walked higher towers than this herself. Good view of Ramstein air base and...
Read moreIf you get a chance to visit this beautiful location I would highly recommend this. During recent times you can travel to the top of the tower and view the vantage point. Theres a few ways to travel here if you want to save some time you can drive up to the tower or my preferred method is parking near the church in Landstuhl, then walk up its about a 1.5km walk so not to bad.
