Sanders Cafe (Cash only) — Restaurant in Landstuhl

Sanders is a cafe that is positioned on the east side of the Main Street in Landstuhl. Parking is not convenient, so I recommend parking in the park and go parking lot by Goldlingers Cafe to save you that stress. Parking is free over there. It only takes about 5 minutes to walk from that parking lot to the cafe.

So this cafe, with its African ambiance, is definitely geared towards Americans, but serves everyone. They have a list of American sandwiches and different warm and cold breakfasts. Their coffee and tea lost is extensive and tasty. Try their tiger chai latte if you like the chai from the coffee bike lady in the bx. They offer cakes, and pastries, including American style ones as well.

The only bad thing I have to report is the bacon. I've tried it multiple times, as have friends and family, and we all feel it tastes like scorched Teflon, or that it's cooked in dirty oil. They are a very clean establishment, so I'm not sure what causes this: it looks perfect, but tastes off. I've tried multiple times as I often forget, and once they even cooked a whole new batch for me. I've just stopped ordering it, in preference for their amazing ham that I found with their Italian breakfast.

Their customer service is generally on point. Sometimes it might be a while if they are busy, but they are always kind. They take reservations, so if you want front of the house seating by the huge open window, or to come Saturday or Sunday mornings for their buffet, be sure to make a reservation. They speak English and will understand you. It is child friendly, and they have a lot of seating towards the back of the house that will work well with their provided...

We visited the Cafe about three months ago and breakfast there was totally forgettable with overcooked eggs and bland potatoes. We decided to give them ONE MORE TRY (on account of all the positive reviews on this venue). Yeah...um...we wont be doing that again.

Because of our previous experience there, we specifically asked for the eggs NOT to be burned or overcooked. We explained to our waitress about the horrible experience and she assured us that the folks in the kitchen knew how to make an egg without burning it. She said that we can put the eggs in "fried medium" and she will let them know not to burn the edges.

When we got our plates, I actually thought that we were being pranked (see attached photos). The bottom of the eggs were actually crispy. We are talking "FRIED-HARD-with-extra-butter-in-a-hot-pan" done. Not sure where the waitress went after delivering these abominations, but we finally saw her again after 10 minutes and asked her if we could get our eggs redone. Once she saw the eggs, she went back to the kitchen for attempt number two.

It came out about 15 minutes later. Looking just as crispy and overcooked as the two on our collective plates. So it wasnt a prank - that is actually the way that eggs are cooked here. In shock and still hungry from not eating, we asked for the check so we could go elsewhere.

Yep. Twenty-one Euro Sixty. That was the bill for those two "Americano Breakfast" plates. So unless you like your eggs looking like toast, I would not recommend this place. We wont be going...

I have been here three times !! The first experience was lovely and my food was great and tasty !!! The second time it was a short in and out for coffee to go !!! Which was always very good !! But be sure to be careful when ordering coffee because some of them are way to SWEET more like a dessert 😬 My thirds time went to order and take home . It was about a hour to closing time ...and still busy but not to crowded .. The omelette was delicious...my husband loved it ...but the pancakes and sausage the kids and I order were honestly disgusting...the pancakes were not cooked through and tasted more like soft premade dough ...and the sausages had a weird taste most likely due to the also not being cooked through .. ALWAYS check your food before you leave places ..I was in a hurry and still regret it ..overall I still really like the place and prices are very reasonable.. I think maybe I just went on a day where it was short staffed or something and they were doing the best they could ... I really hate to say it but I had to throw my kids and I food out ...I couldn't let them eat raw pancakes and sausage!! 😔 I will try again eventually...but I will be making sure the food is cooked ALL the WAY thru !!!! 🩷 Waitresses and other staff are very nice and hardworkers ..and don't mind explaining things to you ...
