I rarely give 1-star reviews, but this place truly deserves it.
I was compelled to leave Leo‘s because of the ineptitude and unprofessionalism of some staff as well as the immaturity of certain clientele.
I am particularly perturbed that Leo‘s continues to employ the absolute worst and most unprofessional instructor I have ever experienced in my many years of regular gym-going.
Indoor cycling classes are in general pretty pathetic. They do not heed the original intention of a spin class: high intensity cardio. Although some instructors are certainly better than others, there is very little sprinting or genuine interval training, and most class participants lazily saunter along, achieving a level of exercise they could no doubt experience by just cycling around the city.
Leo’s does have good bikes (Stages) with a special resistance feature, but alas they are in desperate need of updating, with a large percentage of them defect.
In the lifting section, much of the clientele appears more focused on socializing than on actually working out. If you are genuinely fit and know what you are doing, then you will not fit the norm here, and some petty and frivolous people will treat you poorly for it.
The equipment is decent but not great. Overall, Leo‘s falls significantly short, especially for the...
Read moreWhen compared to premium gyms in London, New York & Amsterdam (for the same price range) - Leos is quite behind in terms of equipment, facilities and additionals.
Things that are now standard in basic gym operators; free coffee, free flavoured water, protein drinks, towels, a classy lounge area - these are not included at Leos.
The machines are fine - but not the premium level. When a request was made to replace worn out bars, this would take months - normally this is an overnight process.
The staff are highly polite, friendly and helpful. Great trainers, physio options. That said; forwarding a small outstanding payment onto a debt collection agency, instead of rectifying the problem with the customer has sincerely affected my impression of this being a premium club, for premium members.
If I had to move back to Munich and required a Gym+Sauna, I would look into competitors...
Read moreThe gym itself is fine but the group classes are just horrible, and completely unfriendly instructors. I went to a few classes for the first time, and every time I got there, first, they smirked at me when I said it was my first time (before the class started, there was some free time and I was just trying to introduce myself/small-talk) and during the class I got yelled at - either I was not following the moves as they wanted, or did some other 'mistakes'. Well, of course, when it is your first time to any class, how do you expect a person to follow everything perfectly?! I am generally fit and been to many fitness classes, but not familiar with all the intricacies of every possible aerobics class out there!... Not supportive at all, and even arrogant. I wonder how they expect to get new customers coming to their classes if they are so unfriendly, even...
