Strandoase Treichel — Attraction in Rostock

Based on the reviews I had seen, I thought that our experience would be much better than it was. The interaction with the owner via email ahead of time was additionally cordial and helpful. The experience at the stand itself was so different. Admittedly, I don't speak German fluently and was unaware of how little credit cards are used and accepted in Germany, but the woman was so unhelpful that I felt as though my patronage made no difference, that I was simply a bother and replaceable by the people behind me in the queue. Her visible frustration and lack of attempt to find common ground made the experience very unpleasant. We were able to rent some chairs through the help of others in line, never by the attendant who provided such an unfriendly and unhelpful greeting. Ultimately, I was surprised that a business that benefits so much from tourism made it so difficult for foreign tourists to patronize...
