Read morewe absolutely recommend staying with klaus under a thatched roof in rostock-lichtenhagen ! he kindly provided fresh fruit and hid easter themed chocolate bunnies for us in the apartment, what a sweetie. from there it's just a short bike ride to the beach – through a field of fragrant blossoms that will make your heart bloom in awe 🌸
the stoltera nature reserve will charm you with an abundance of ivy growing over the trees, a carpet of moss on the ground and cute little white flowers dancing out of the soil. go admire dogs living their best life on the beach as well as the interesting formations of the steep cliff at kap geinitzort. not far from here is the gespensterwald (buuouhaouuubuhhh !) with its bizarre trees shaped by the salty, humid sea air. it's so windy that locals say your curls might disappear, but you can warm up with a hot sanddorn juice in one of the slightly overpriced cafés.
enjoy the breathtaking sunset at the beach and have a dip in the ocean if you are brave enough. the water was just 8°C in april, great opportunity for practicing the wim hof method and reenacting a scene of t. peters' de-transition baby. if you reach a fever pitch and are left breathless, a lifeboat with the name adele will come to your rescue.
the wooden stakes in the water are called buhnen and they are supposed to break the waves, but we think they might also have been built for balance exercises and bird rest. there were three seagulls digging a hole in the sand and mining for the most beautiful rocks – one of my favorite activities as well. we found a whole array of different kinds: bernstein, tiny grey ones, chalk rock, but you gotta be careful with potential phosphor findings ~ don't set fire to the rain ! ! it is by official rule not allowed to feed the seagulls, though they will likely steal your snacks anyways. we saw one grab a whole ice cream cone, their favorite flavor seems to be vanilla.
on the strip in warnemünde you can buy fisher hats with a cow pattern and heart-shaped rocks from a vending machine, my friend got the orange one that stands for sensuality and the body. at warnemünde harbor a large amount of people who seem to be huge fans of monogamy placed love locks on a bridge, fooling themselves about the eterny of their sensual bond. one heart shaped lock already broke apart and seems to be chasing pavements now. rumor has it that this love is water under the bridge and your heart might melt to stone. but i do prefer a rock over a...
