The Titisee is a great little lake in the middle if the Black Forest. It is super tourist friendly and a great place to get away for an afternoon. The town has a ton of touristy shops and restaurants where you can find everything from local delicacies (including real black forest ham, and black forest cherry cake) to cuckoo clocks, to Germany/black forest souvenirs to take home. You can hike or mountain bike around the lake (although as a disclaimer you can't actually see the lake for a good portion of the hiking / bicycling "Rundweg"). All in all, if you're looking for a day trip in the heart of the black forest you can't...
Read moreTitisee is a beautiful and very small town. Very easily accessible from frieburg and Neustad. From frieburg in every hour at least 3-4 buses goes to Titisee. There is a Titisee bahnhoff station to which you can arrive ( though construction work is underway till Oct 2018). Titisee gives you great experience of Back Forrest . You can find cuckoo clock there with different range. There is real cuckoo clock as well which plays in every hour. Titisee boat ride is recommended and it's not expensive- 6 € per person. You don't need to stay there as it is very small town and can take max 3 hrs to complete your visit. Hotels are expensive too, so don't spend money there and better be in some where and come and enjoy...
Read moreGreat touristy Black Forest Place. Keep in mind definitely for the tourist. But if that’s what you need to see in terms of going to the Black Forest it’s the perfect location. There’s a beautiful lake where you can rent paddle boats and paddle boards etc. Nice public beach if you want to swim. And of course the main area of the village where you can shop to your hearts delight for cuckoo clocks etc. There are also some great little shopping areas other than cuckoo clocks. And some great restaurants to get your German sausage in Boston. Good places to sit and people watch. Of course the way in in the way out is gorgeous to the mountain passes. Highly recommend if you want to see the “touristy“ black...
