We all loved this museum that has so many stories to tell! It’s a must see if you are around. Take a little time to listen to the very enthousiastic ladies who tell you about Greec schoolsystem but also demonstrate and let you try to spin toll’s and try to write in oldfashion way. We learned about the Meteora Mountains and how the monks got up and down. We enjoyed the lovely old classroom and were even allowed to spend some time with our children to do their homework. Thank you for the great hospitality!

FRANÇAIS / ENGLISH Petit musée mais bel accueil. La personne qui gère le musée est passionnée par son sujet et s'est rendue très disponible pour nous donner moulte explications et anecdotes, le tout dans un parfait anglais. Le musée propose un court film sur l'histoire des Météores . Mais l'intérêt réside surtout dans la reproduction des salles d'école grecques des années 50, des ouvrages et jeux utilisés par les enfants de l'époque ainsi que des originaux des livres d'Esope. A ne pas manquer lorsque vous passez aux Météores ! gros plus pour l'accueil, nous avons beaucoup appris! Small museum but wonderful welcoming. The woman who welcomed us knows her subject and gave us so many explanations in perfect english. We couldn't ask for more and were surprised considering Meteor area is such a touristic place. You can watch short movies about Meteor. The main interest is the reproduction of an old classroom from the 50s., originals books and games that kids played back in the days, as well as original books by Esope. Don't miss it when in Meteor, it's a must!

Very interesting museum, you have 1 room about Greek education, 1 other about the Greek revolution, 1 other about classroom and toy. And you can see short movies about Meteora ! Don't be shy and ask anything at the young girl, she is very cultivated and warm. It was a good moment, I learn a lot of things and found some similarities with France education.

Great museum! Allot of history about Greek education. Featuring textbooks, classroom furniture (!), etc. A nice break from everything else around the area. The museum is pretty new, so don’t be surprised if you didn’t find allot of information about it in book guides. We stumbled on it by chance.

Το Μουσείο Ελληνικής Παιδείας βρίσκεται στο κέντρο της πόλης της Καλαμπάκας και έχει εκπαιδευτικό και πολιτιστικό προσανατολισμό. Σκοπός του Μουσείου είναι η διαφύλαξη, μελέτη, προβολή και ανάδειξη της Ελληνικής Παιδείας και των αξιών που απορρέουν από αυτή. Σ’ αυτό εκτίθενται μοναδικές συλλογές του συλλέκτη Παύλου Μπαλογιάννη σχετικές με την ελληνική εκπαίδευση και την παιδεία γενικότερα. Η παρουσίαση των εκθεμάτων είναι απόλυτα ανθρωποκεντρική, προσαρμοσμένη στις ανάγκες του σύγχρονου επισκέπτη. Το Μουσείο Ελληνικής Παιδείας φιλοδοξεί να φέρει σε επαφή τον επισκέπτη με τα Ελληνικά Γράμματα και τον Ελληνικό Πολιτισμό με τρόπο απλό και βιωματικό ώστε να αποτελέσει ένα χώρο πολιτισμού, μάθησης, εκπαίδευσης και επιστήμης. Παράλληλα με τη μόνιμη συλλογή στο Μουσείο θα φιλοξενούνται περιοδικές εκθέσεις, επιστημονικές ημερίδες, διαλέξεις και πλήθος άλλων πολιτιστικών εκδηλώσεων..

We really enjoyed our visit to the museum. Our boys were very interested and our guide was very kind and gave as a lot of information, her english was really good. This place is definitely worth for a visit, a lot of interesting side stories makes the visit even more attractive.
