AMAZING!!!!!!! Don't visit Kalambaka without going to this restaurant! My husband and I have traveled the world and have experienced cuisines from the best to the worst. This is BY FAR one of the most amazing restaurants we have ever visited, beginning with Michael (owner and amazing host) to the ice cold draft beer to the complimentary small plates of surprise plates of Greek heavenly dishes to the main meals (if you have room left) to the home made food straight from the kitchen and hands of an amazing chef. My husband ordered the lamb sausage and kebabs. I am not a meat eater but actually loved the sausage. The salads, cabbage and Greek salads, were better than in any other of the three other restaurants we tried while in Kalambaka. After trying expensive food in santorini and Crete with big expectation, I gave up and went back to burgers and pizza, until someone I met in the monastery told me about this restaurant. There were Greek people singing in the restaurant, more like they were customers who just want to smoke, eat and sing Greek songs. It was a hot, sunny summer day and our group decided to grab a few beers.

Decided to visit Taksimi tavern as it had high Google ratings from locals. The tavern was located off the main street of Kalabaki town.

We were glad we made the right choice. The beers were served cold and they served them in frozen-chilled mugs. On a 43-degree afternoon, that feeling was satisfying.

The staff were friendly and they served plates of snacks to go with the beer. They were delicious, savoury and sour, depending on the dish, which were ideal accompaniment with the drinks.
