Amvrosia is a true hidden gem in Kalabaka!
Food has been delicious! I had to eat grilled chicken fillet although I don't like it, because I'm on a diet, and I ate the tastier chicken fillet in my life!! It was tender, juicy without being rare and with a delicate light sauce of mustard and lemon I think. Truly delicious!! The same with the green salad Amvrosia that we got, it was exquisite: the vegetables were very fresh and the sauce was just at the right quantity and of a delicious light lemon (or orange?) taste and aroma! One of best green salads ice ever eaten! And the eggplant cooked in a pottery container was also a delicacy! All portions were generous, main plates are enough for two people each, and the salad was abundant too!
Vasilis, the owner and waiter who served us, was very gentle, prompt and caring to all his customers. He has a rare mentality of offering to his customers the best in quality and service, no matter what, and this is greatly appreciated, as it is a rather rare phenomenon in Greece (unfortunately). He loves what he is doing and this shows in every little aspect and tiny detail to his customers. This person loves their work and does it with passion and this shows!
Strongly and warmly recommended if you plab to visit Kalambaka! Thank...
Read moreWe’ve went for a dinner at this restaurant. There was no wait to sit down, but then we had to wait 20 mins for the waiter to take our order (it wasn’t crowded) when there were people coming after us and ordering before us.
There was a couple coming right after us, somehow ordered right away and while they were finishing their 2 main dishes after the appetizer only then our food arrived.
We’ve ordered tzatziki as appetizer and lamb as main dish and thought we would order something else later. In the end we’ve waited 40 mins for both tzatziki and lamb to arrive.
I’ve thought that appetizer comes before main dish, why have they decided otherwise we don’t know. And we’ve thought that tzatziki would come with bread, but we had to eat it with fries that came with lamb. (We were totally fine to pay extra for bread, but didn’t want to wait another 40 mins for it.)
The lamb I liked, my husband not so much.
Long story short - 1 hour of waiting for 1 appetizer and 1 main dish, when people around you are being served properly. Absolutely...
