Alianthos Seaside Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Agios Vasileios

Apart from the view and location my family’s overall experience was absolutely horrendous. We understand that we visited on a Saturday during summer and the service might be slower but waiting 2 hours for one dish is a bit of a stretch. We had ordered our meals just gone 3:00pm and we had to be back on our bus come 5:20, all our meals arrived one or two at a time with long waits in between; the group we were with had all received and ate their meals long before we had received our second "round" of meals (only three out of 6 of us had received ours by then) however soon after the next two plates arrived and we thought the last plate was going to come soon.. we were so wrong. After two hours of waiting since we arrived and ordered we ended up having to cancel one of the meals meaning that my dad ended up going without any food since 7:00am. When we asked the waiters how much longer he told us 10 minutes as they haven’t even started preparing his fish. To add to this the waiter showed little remorse for this long delay. Furthermore when we received the receipt I noticed 6 charges for things that didn’t add up; when I asked the server about it he said that they were charges for the service but once I translated it it had turned out that we were charges for bread which we didn’t even order (€1.60 per person). Surely this isnt acceptable and is just taking the mick at this point. Isn’t it a norm to serve a table as whole rather than doing it at individual times and make everyone around them watch as one or two people eat. This is by far the worst restaurant my family has ever eaten in and to be honest it wasn’t incredibly busy to the point that delays like that should occur. After reading other people’s reviews it seems to me that the servers pick and choose days/people that they are just not going to serve properly. Personally I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone...

This was our third visit, and sadly, our last. We decided to give this place another chance after a perfect first visit with a local friend, where everything was fast, attentive, and well-executed. Second time wasn’t good. Unfortunately, today's experience was a complete disaster. We waited 45 minutes for our order, even though the restaurant was half-empty with most guests having already left. Despite asking multiple times for ice cubes, none were brought, and I ended up having to get them myself. The same happened with the dip that usually comes with the crunchy zucchini - it never arrived despite our repeated requests. To top it off, the salad was served warm. The portion of shrimp saganaki was laughable - cold and just three shrimp for 15.50€. You could see the bottom of the pot, which is far from what you'd expect for a main course. The fried calamari was incredibly tough, so much so that we didn’t even bother returning it to the kitchen, as the staff seemed completely indifferent. After this thoroughly unsatisfying meal, we requested a takeaway box for the salad. Waited for another 15 minutes to give up on that too. As someone who works in the industry, it’s mind-boggling to see staff more focused on cleaning dirty tables than on serving the guests who are currently waiting. We eventually just got up and went inside to pay because the service was so inattentive. On top of all this, the check was substantial, which only adds to the disappointment. We stopped here for coffee and ice cream. We sat down. Nobody said hello. Smile? Noooo! Miserable staff. Many of the tables had dirty plates and glasses on them and yet the staff just walked past them. It was late afternoon so not incredibly busy. I had to go and ask to order. After 10 minutes someone came, it was then I was told that we had to go across the road inside restaurant to order. That's when it got even worse. Ignored by everyone. No hello. A young waitress was preening around with absolutely no interest in anything. The owner? was arguing with someone over a bill, not shouting but 2 - 3 staff were just standing with him listening. It took forever to get served. The service was really awful. We would have left but we had waited so long already, there was no point. The only person that showed any interest who smiled, who spoke nicely, who was helpful was a young Indian guy. He was lovely but one member of staff out of so many isn't going to make this place any better. I would not return or recommend this place. The beachside location might look nice but the staff let the place down badly and it's not worth the waste of time. Shame because it could be fabulous. Coffee and ice cream was good to be honest. I'm a local so I know that it's hot and busy and tiring doing this work...
