We had a wonderful visit to Klio’s honey farm! It surpassed all my expectations, and it was a privilege to see what Klio and her family have built here. We travelled to Klio’s honey farm with our Tour Guide who called up beforehand to inform Klio of our arrival. When we arrived we were greeted by a beautiful set up with fresh juice, water and coffee for the whole family, we had 2 young children and Klio was amazing with them, she gave them some plastic jugs and cups to play with whilst we were there. Klio started off with the wonderful history of her bee farm and showed us the hives and items for their history of bee keeping. She was really good at keeping all of our attention and answering any questions we had as well as multitasking and giving the children little activities to do at the same time to keep them entertained. After the talk we got to try her amazing spoon sweets made from the Quince on her farm and she also picked some fresh figs for us to try from her fig trees. She led us to a room set up with the full history of bee keeping and pictures of her family which were so lovely. She ended our day with some traditional greek pastries and some of her amazing honey which was incredible. Klio went over an above and we all can’t thank her enough - we bought some of her amazing honey and homemade balm to bring home - it really was a truly wonderful visit and I can’t recommend visiting her enough. Thank you for such a...
Read moreWhen visiting the archeological site of Ancient Olympia we decided to also visit Klio's honey farm. It was agreat decision. From the moment we met Klio we were made to feel at home and were taken by her genuine warmth and friendly disposition. Having walked for a long period viewing the archeological site it was a great joy to relax sitting in the shade of a large tree in Klio's garden. We were presented with freshly made juice and homemade jam while Klio gave us a brief history of her farm and explained what was involved in the art of producing honey.
We then sampled Klio's honey and did it taste good! In addition to the honey there were other products available which were very tempting but as we were on a cruise and then travelling further we just took a few jars of honey. Having used it again at home I can confirm that it tastes just as good here as it did in Klio's garden.
Klio thanks for your warm welcome , engaging personality genuine Greek hospitality and also your treats. We are still enjoying your honey and when doing so recall a pleasant hour which we spent in your company.

I've been to a honey farm before but wanted to see a Greek honey farm. I thought it would be interesting but I didn't realize how little I knew. I learned much about the history of beekeeping as well as many benefits to nature and health which I didn't know. That might be expected on stop like this but Klio brings her lifelong knowledge and passion to real life. Not only that she does so in such a welcoming and wonderful way. You feel like your with family and friends. It starts with coffee, juice water, fruit and spoon sweets while you are taken through the journey of the history of beekeeping in general and of this family farm. You learn how it's changed from early in her childhood to today and the impact on the family and community. Seeing pictures of the family and her personal collection of items and photos from beekeeping oozed like honey with her passion. The culmination of the tour tasting their own honey on her mom's diples. My wife was skepticle of this stop on our itinerary and it ended up being on of her favorite stops ! My wife even got to have a fresh fig picked right off of one...
