With the teenager dropped into this museum on a whim and left genuinely impressed. Housed in a two‑floor building in the heart of Olympia, it’s packed with interactive models of Archimedes’ genius inventions. You’ll find everything from the famous Archimedes’ screw to a working replica of the Antikythera Mechanism. There are also mechanical clocks, hydraulic weirdness, catapults, cranes so much ancient tech in one spot! I loved fiddling with the hands‑on exhibits that show how engineers of old solved real problems. The audio visual panels are friendly and bilingual, so no need to be a science whiz to enjoy them. It’s quiet, compact, and engaging a welcome change from larger tourist crowds. A friendly staff member explained a few tricky inventions in simple terms, which made the visit feel personal. We spent about an hour here, but could have stayed longer tinkering and watching the models in action. If you like clever machines or just want a fun, hands-on museum experience next to the archaeological site, this one is...

This is a fantastic place to explore the brilliant inventions of ancient Greece, especially those of Archimedes and other pioneering minds. While it may appear modest in size at first glance, don’t be fooled—you can easily spend hours delving into each captivating creation and uncovering the genius behind them. That said, if you're short on time, a quicker visit can be wrapped up in about an hour. The staff is very helpful and explained everything. It's a wonderful experience for both kids and adults, offering a hands-on, educational adventure that sparks curiosity and imagination. If you're nearby, I highly recommend stopping by. Admission is free, but donations are welcome—and they offer a selection of cleverly designed games inspired by ancient inventions. I picked up a couple, and the kids...

I had a wonderful experience at the Museum of Inventions dedicated to Greek culture and Archimedes. While exploring, we were simply asking some questions, and the lovely lady at the museum reception came over and, with so much joy and enthusiasm, started explaining everything to us. She wasn’t even our guide, yet she took the time to share her knowledge with such passion and clarity. Her explanations were engaging, easy to understand, and full of energy — you could feel how much she loved what she was talking about. This genuine kindness made the visit unforgettable and turned a simple stop into an inspiring learning experience. A truly unique museum that’s worth visiting, not just for the fascinating inventions, but also for the warm people who bring...

A small but wonderful museum highlighting the inventions of Archimedes as well as several other Greek luminaries. Working recreations of notable inventions from ancient times including a water-based alarm clock, celestial maps, and more, as well as model boats and weapons of war. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more willing to jump in and highlight the collection or get the exhibit running as you were looking at it. I imagine curious kids of a certain age will find this fascinating. This old kid did!
