Thank you so much for your hospitality. We finished touring the Olympic museums and were starving after. My husband and I had no idea where to go. As we walked to the car a menu was waiting on it. We were so delighted to see this. Being in a place we are unfamiliar this was a blessing for us. As we looked through the menu we were happy to see so many options at a reasonable price. We drove over and found the place easily. The owner greeted us warmly and we were seated immediately. It is slow season end of October. He brought us bread and dips, which I never liked hummus till here, and we ordered his wine. It was beautiful wine. I ordered the greek salad to share, pork gyro portion and my husband the spicy meatball pilaf. Everything was truly delicious. He makes everything from scratch from his garden. He presses his own olives for cooking oil and your salads. I had some yogurt with honey to finish the meal. The honey was bright and beautiful compared to what we have in the US. Wish I had grabbed some before we had to leave. Our whole night was rushed with early flight out. Once again thank you for everything. Hope to one day visit greece and see you and your family again. Congratulations on the second...
Read moreWhen we returned to the parking lot after visiting the ancient Olympia, a flyer for the Phedias inn was waiting for us on the windowsill.
Normally this would not attract our attention, but this time it was written that they also have vegan dishes!!! WOW! That convinced us in an instant.
The restaurant is close to the parking lot, so we headed there on foot. The waiter was very kind when we said we wanted a vegan lunch he didn’t roll his eyes :))), he knew what it meant to be vegan.
We ordered fava with pie as an appetizer, vegan pita and rice wrapped in vine leaves for the main course.
We always share food so everyone tries a little. The waiter immediately offered my husband to prepare something else if he didn't like the food !!! The food was delicious, but this gesture was really very kind.
We were already very full of all these traditional Greek dishes, but the owner brought us a delicious watermelon for dessert - on the house. Really very caring service, great traditional Greek food, even in a vegan way.
Thanks for caring. Maybe in the future you reduce dishes on the meat side and increase those on the...
Read more100% recommend if you are staying in Olympia area. This great place was only opened this year and is run by a kind and wholesome person. The food exceeded our expectations - we had chicken gyros, meatballs with feta cheese and gyros pizza. Everything was prepared fresh and on the spot for us and served with smile and generosity of portion sizes. The prices were reasonable and quite cheap in comparison to some other places in the area that don't provide the same level of high quality service.
On the side note - the owner adopted a dog that was left behind by a group of tourist and now it acts as a small attraction to those visiting. We LOVED the dog. She was well taken care of, calm and sweet and accompanied us all the way to the end of our meal without begging for food even once.
Great place run by great people. Highly...
