Favorite place in Greece so far!!! You have 800 y/o ruins (& a crazy history) surrounded by blue sea and a really quaint village below to get lost in or quench your thirst. Free entry and open 24/7. Wear a hat & sturdy shoes, bring water. It's a rough trail with lots of steps up and down but the view is oh so worth it. Go straight to the top first (multiple stops for pics), walk the circular trail then reward yourself down in the village. It's about 4 miles total if you walk it all but you can alter that at will. I believe there is an inexpensive shuttle bus that will take you from the parking lot to the first gate. You will really thank yourself...
Read moreMmm, one room with uninteresting fairly recent pottery, lights not functioning. Not able to read anything due to lack of light. Reaction of the attendant, after asking if he could switch on the light: “problem with the lights” although a few were actually working. Maybe switch the bulbs every once in a while. Quite a deception, left after 5 minutes. Price per mintue is highest of any recently visited museum in Greece and definitely not worth it. Only good thing here was the nice temperature on this...

But here it is, the museum is not very big but it explains the rise and fall of the town, along with collections of artefacts excavated in the upper town (uphill). The lady who runs the place is warm and knowledgeable. Had a great chat with her about the town’s history...
