Stayed here for a friends' wedding in one of the rooms overlooking the church and square.||The room was basic but very comfortable and well furnished, just a bed, fridge, cupboard, chairs and table and a bathroom. But really that's all you need.||||Breakfast was different each morning but always delicious with lots of local (I think from the owners own farm?) produce. ||||Monemvasia is pretty tiny, but here you're away from the "main" street, so it was always quiet in the evening. There's a swimming platform beneath the wall, great places to eat in town, lots of streets to wander and a nice hike up to the top.||||Only thing to mention is if you're arriving after dark, a torch may be useful as although it is signposted, it's not well lit and the streets are pretty twisty and uneven. Read moreWe stayed in this wonderful guesthouse for 3 nights at the end of February. I can barely describe the sheer beauty of this place. The guesthouse, the views, the surrounding, the wine, the food I could go on and on. We had a truly lovely time but the thing that stood out the most was the wonderful family that run this place. The owners wife is a truly lovely lady. Fresh baked bread and cakes each morning. Home made yoghurt, home made preserves, I could go on forever. Just one final wonderful touch was as we were leaving on our last morning the owner's wife gave us a large bad of oranges that she had just picked from their own orchard....

At check-in no one explained how to turn on the hot water; unwelcome cold showers the first morning were the result. Breakfast was not served while we were there. Instead, a few victuals were left in the room, good enough for the first morning. However, nothing was replaced for our second morning even after we had specifically asked, so we had to abscond and find something on the main square. Not really an optimal experience.|The facility is a slightly musty but cheerful former monastery building. Charming and attractive, the hotel could benefit by a serious reexamination of its...
