Lithos by Spyros & Flora — Attraction in Municipality of Mykonos

Marina, Marios, and their team delivered the most exceptional hospitality I’ve experienced in any travel destination. Like many others have said in reviews, staying at Lithos by Spyros and Flora was the highlight of our trip to Mykonos. Rather than a hotel, it felt like staying with family. This meant our trip didn’t feel like we were merely guests at another resort or hotel. We felt like we were part of their family, and thus, immersed in the island itself.

The hospitality: Everyone was so friendly that they made learning about and navigating the island incredibly effortless. It’s easy to get intimidated with all the locations and businesses on the island. Marina provided an exceptional introduction to the island. This concierge service was so helpful for us since we didn’t come prepared with an itinerary. We went to many of the destinations Marina recommended and all were incredible. We felt really prepared for all the beaches and restaurants because of her recommendation. We also used the laundry service which is quick and easy. We had the daily breakfast and it was delicious and consistent everyday. It’s perfect for getting an early start to the day since you don’t have to plan your early meal. I highly recommend it.

The space: The rooms are incredibly spacious and comfortable. They are more than well equipped for anything you can possibly need during your stay. Beautiful decor and great AC made the room a perfect place to relax after a day out on the hot island.

We also spent a day lounging pool side on the chairs. The pool was beautiful and everything from the poolside bar was excellent.

Why they deserve more than 5-stars: It’s difficult to find places that not only provide a comfortable stay, but become part of your vacation itself. This is that kind of place. Seeing how this family run hotel welcomes everyone, including ourselves, really let us feel immersed in the island itself. It felt more like we genuinely knew everyone instead of just being guests. They helped us see more in the island than we would have ourselves.

There are plenty of examples but here are a few. [ ] I injured myself on the beach one day. As soon as I come back, Marina sent me to Marios who helped thoroughly clean and treat my wound. They checked up on me the next day to make sure I was okay. [ ] We had a late flight on the last day of our stay which meant we had a whole day after check-in to spend. Rather than spend 11 hours in the airport, they encouraged us to leave our luggage in the hotel so we can explore the island once more in peace. We got a whole other day of island exploring because of this gesture. They allowed us to also lounge in the lobby and rooftop while serving us water to stay hydrated when we got back. These examples show how you’re not just a guest when you stay here. This family provides a level of kind hospitality that you will not get elsewhere. All the best parts of staying with family! We went for our honeymoon in early September, and was one of our favourite places to stay on our 3 week honeymoon in Greece.

We were greeted so warmly when we arrived, and given the lay of the land, including recommendations for places to go, places to avoid, and how to get around. We mentioned we had reservations at a restaurant that night and they organized a transfer for us. The service was seriously top notch... more on that later in the review.

The location is great! Not in the hustle and bustle so it's quiet, with a great beach and reastaurnts right across the street. There is also a bus stop right outside the doors of the hotel, so it's very easy to get around the island.

There is also an unorganized beach close by that we were recommended when checking in, and the sunset there was unreal. We got a fun sunset experience on the beach with only 10 others there, many of them locals.

The rooms are AMAZING! We were upgraded to a suite, and we loved it. The rooms were spacious, with two full bathrooms that made getting ready a breeze. The rooms are also quiet. You don't hear anyone! The bed was also so comfy and had great sheets.

The breakfast was standard fare, but the ingredients were always perfect.

Now more on the service, I've never had better service anywhere before. We truly felt like family in the best possible way. I tripped while out and had a large scrape on my leg, when my husband asked the owners about what disinfectant brands were local in Greece, they provided a bottle to him for him to use. We used a few sprays and returned the bottle to them and got our own, but they were so kind to offer theirs.

Then the ferries got cancelled due to weather and we had to stay an extra night. They ensured we would be able to stay in our room, and worked so hard to accommodate all their guests (The hotel was sold out during this time). We were scheduled to go out the next day in the afternoon, but the weather was still rough so we were unsure if we would get to leave. However, they made it worry free. They provided late check out free of charge and assured us we could continue to stay with them if we were delayed another night.

Marios, Marina and working staff were warm, extremely helpful, and made our visit memorable. The rooms were clean, service was exceptional. Since my dad was traveling with us as well, they were very kind to inquire about him given the summer heat in May 2024.

The breakfast is the highlight when it comes to food. Wonderful way to start the day and great value for money too. The wonderful pool side location and the view makes the morning that much more special! You can also walk down to a near by beach. My wife and I walked along the beach during one of the mornings and truly enjoyed Greece, Mediterranean even more!

Apart from lot of help in guiding us with local information, public transportation, places to eat at, there were two exceptional ways they helped us with. One was assisting us with booking to Delos Tour in the evening we traveled from Santorini. Marios enquired the company about the weather for two days and recommended to us to visit Delos by Boat that evening (weather was going to get worse for the next two days) since my wife is a bit sensitive to motion sickness. We didn’t want to miss visiting Delos since our son absolutely loves Greek mythology. In addition, Marios was actively monitoring our vessel ETA from Santorini to Mykonos, had kept few options ready in case we were delayed and ensure we still make it to the Delos tour that day.

What summed up the exceptional care was when we were about the take our boat to Athens. When we reached the port, we realized we had forgotten a jacket at the hotel. We didn’t have much time left and we didn’t want to call Marios. We felt it would be a trouble as we knew he would make an attempt to help us. Unbelievably, we get a call from Marios saying that we had left a jacket, he is on his way here on his scooter, and wanted to know where exactly in the port we could meet. We managed to meet, and as a special memory, we took a picture to remind us of wonderful owners we got a chance to meet. My dad who was traveling with us was delighted and was touched by their warmth. That made the moment special for us too. Thank you very much for being wonderful hosts!
