My favorite beach in Naxos. In terms of seating area, there is a lot of space on the beach with multiple options for renting sun beds. The water is relatively calm and has a good depth gradient, not being too shallow for too long. It is super clear! The sand is a bit coarse (it is not super thin sand!), but not uncomfortable. The views are also nice.
The south end of the beach tends to be more crowded, with fancier (and more expensive) sun beds, and closer to many bars and restaurants. The north part is more relaxed and a bit quieter. Also, parking is much harder to find in the southern part of the beach due to a bigger crowd.
My recommendation for a chill, relaxing day at the beach is to drive all the way to the north side of the beach, past the pink-red looking lakes. Over there you will find a beach side bar / restaurant called Molos - there is plenty of parking over there! Additionally, the sun beds are super affordable (20euros front row, 15euros the rest) and the stuff is super nice! This was definitely my favorite beach experience on Naxos and I highly recommend...
Read moreI recently visited Agios Prokopios Beach, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The beach was filled with an overwhelming number of sun beds, all of which were priced excessively high. It felt more like a commercial venture than a relaxing beach getaway.
The overcrowding was another major issue. There was hardly any space to spread out and enjoy the beach without being surrounded by throngs of people. This made it difficult to find any peace and quiet.
To make matters worse, there was an unpleasant smell that permeated the area. It significantly detracted from the overall beach experience and made it difficult to enjoy the surroundings.
It's clear that the natural beauty of Agios Prokopios Beach has been compromised. The commercialization and overdevelopment have destroyed what could have been a beautiful and serene spot.
Overall, I was very disappointed with my visit to Agios Prokopios Beach and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant and relaxing...
Read moreThis is THE beach to visit in Naxos.
There are a range of deckchair providers along the beach for a range of prices. We were on chairs thar were 30€ for a pair of chairs under an umbrella but there are some vendors that charge 80€ a chair for a higher quality chair. Shop around and find what suits you. There is also plenty of space to bring your own equipment and settle down on the beach.
The water is crystal clear. The waves are so gentle and the tidal range is low so the water is almost still, allowing for easy swimming. The water is quite salty so you float without much effort.
There are some portaloos that are free to use that were smelly but not disgusting.
Beautiful place. Settle down for a lovely...
