Del Mar Cafè — Restaurant in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

As a lover of traditional greek food I have not expected that I would enter an italian restaurant on my trip to Naxos. But after beeing there once I felt such a beautiful vibe there so that Del Mar actually became my „home base“ during my 3 weeks. The food is absolutely fantastic and the people working there are gorgeous. Bianis, actually the coolest guy on Naxos, will take care of you on the beach and in the restaurant and is superspreading positive energy everywhere he goes. Angela will make you the best drinks. Marco, the good soul of agios prokopios, will make you feel always welcome and not a guest, but a friend. I think no one else than he knows that good how to create the most delicious food out of simple ingredients. Something that might get lost nowadays. And if Niko, a master of cooking arts as well, says to you that he has a special, just trust him and say yes. Also you have to try his tiramisu, which is literally the best i have ever eaten, although he will say that he has just bought it in the super market^^ Thank you so much guys to make me feel like a part of the family. VERY RUDE STAFF, was sitting on the beach on the "free chairs" by the ocean when a man came up to us and started yelling saying that if we were sitting in the chairs we HAD to order something from the restaurant. We were actually considering having dinner there later however he insisted we order now because we sat in the free chairs his restaurant provided. The beach also wasnt busy at all so many other chairs were open and we weren't taking away from their business. We said we really didn't want anything now but were thinking about going for dinner and he was pushy and aggressive which made my sister and I very uncomfortable, especially being young tourists in Naxos. A place which seemed like a good option for dinner is now a place i will not go because of this bad mannered man. Definitely would not recommend eating here and supporting this rude...

Lovely Italian restaurant run by Italians who are super friendly and provide a great atmosphere. Numerous customers in here were clearly returnees.

We were a party of 5 and had really good fresh food. The Lasagne was delicious and huge. Mushroom risotto and grilled Octopus were great. I had a margarita pizza - the pizza base was marked as being a frozen base on the menu and that’s what it was - your typical frozen base. The topping was lovely but the frozen base did spoil the experience. We saws others eating some very nice looking fresh pasta dishes.

Aperol Spritz and Long Island Ice Tea were perfect made and also the restaurant gave us complimentary bruschetta to start which was delicious.

Very reasonable and a really lovely lovely place.
