This beach club was recommended to us.
We were greeted in a very friendly way and the price concept of the sun loungers was explained to us. The front three rows were the more expensive ones and the back ones cost 35 euros and we paid 7 euros for an additional "pouf". There were also cabanas, quite big beds, for 70 euros plus 70 euros minimum consumption.
Facility: The name Macao suggested something Asian at the beginning, but the concept of the cuisine was Mexican. However, there was also sushi and pasta on the menu.
The restaurant area was clean and had a beach concept there as well. The kitchen was kept open so it was easy to watch.
The resort itself was kept clean and well constructed. The water was crystal clear.
Service: The waiter at the beginning also very friendly, brought us the menu and was nimble with bringing our order.
As the club became more crowded, the waiter was only busy serving ladies and taking their numbers. It was funny to watch, but stupid when you don't get anything to drink. We had to get up and order drinks from another waiter.
At the end of our visit, the co-owner (Alexis) came to us, apologised for the service and brought us a bottle of rosé on the house.
Absolutely mega gesture and the waiter apologised too.
Food: The prices for the food are overpriced and the taste is unfortunately rather average.
We had club sandwiches, quesadillas and chicken nuggets with chips.
Unfortunately, all 3 are not recommended.
Conclusion: Beautiful facility, attentive staff and great location. We'd love to come back and thanks...
Read moreCheck your receipts! I am not sure if they are actively dishonest or just confused. I’d like to give the benefit of the doubt.
We rented a set of sunbeds in the 3rd row for €20. We ordered 2 rounds of drinks over the course of the day, which we got a receipt for each time. When it came time to pay they said it was €91. I thought that seemed very high but in the moment thought that maybe our drinks had just added up to more than I thought.
After paying I thought about it more and realized that was way more than we had spent unless we misunderstood the price of the sunbeds. We got the waiters attention again and he confirmed it was €20, so I told him I thought we paid too much. He went to get a receipt and showed us that we had been charged for multiple items we didn’t order. He tried briefly to argue with us about if we had ordered those items until I produced the receipts of what we had ordered. Then he added it up and found my price should only be €52, which was a €40 difference. After a long time he came back with €30 cash, which he told me was the right amount and not €40 “because of taxes”. What taxes?! I was done arguing and decided €10 wasn’t worth it but it was a disappointing experience.
Obviously I should have asked to see what I was paying for before actually paying. Be careful and pay attention! And keep...
Read moreFood is Amazing… the sushi is incredible… very fresh and the best I have ever had! The cocktails are also incredible… loved the cosmos and espresso martini’s ! We spent from 10am till late evening on the sun loungers (30 euros plus min spend 30 euros) being the beds at the back from the beach and cheapest but only about 25mtrs walk so easy access. The staff were lovely and accommodating, however basically stood around chatting together or on their phones so I had to wave frantically to get their attention for my orders. Maybe being in the “cheap seats” we didn’t receive the attention of the expensive seats ? But in reality we bought truckloads of food, cocktails and a bottle of Prosecco so our bill was large… they needed to be more attentive as they would have received a great tip ! They also overcharged us on the cocktails as we had kept our own record, I think this happened as we ordered 2 and only 1 came and when we questioned the missing one I believe they added another to the bill… this happened twice so two extra on the bill. So recommend you get a receipt every order to match the bill and check. However I would definitely recommend if you love great food and are a cocktail snob like myself … had a...
