Keep reading to learn how you and your dog can travel to this “hot spring” in Santorini! ⛴ We booked the Volcano, Hot Springs, and a trip to Thirassia Island tour with @dakoutrostravel 📍 Meet at the Old Port in Fira (can either take the Funicular or walk down) in the morning 💰 30€\person ⏳ 5-6 hours 🌋 First Stop: Volcano ✨ 10 minute boat ride to the port of Erinia ✨ You can walk to see the view from the top of the Volcano OR stay in the boat, you have ~1 hour to do so. 🐶 Our Experience: We walked about 10 minutes, but turned around because it was HOT and there was no shade for Remy! We saw some of the view, however, didn’t feel the need to go up. Safety first for our little guy! ♨️ Second Stop: “Hot” Springs ✨ Why the quotations? The temperature wasn’t hot at all, it was lukewarm at best! ✨ However, we did not swim to the shore line, which, has the hottest temperature. ✨ Here you have 30 minutes to swim and explore the springs! 🐶 Our Experience: We swam for about 10 minutes and then came back! At first the water was cold but then warmed up the closer you swam to shore! 🍽 Third Stop: Lunch in Thirassia ✨ You will have 1.5 hours to explore the island, swim, and eat from several cafes located on the crystal clear water! ✨ You can also choose to walk up the village of Manolas for some food/views. 🐶 Our Experience: We spent our time eating and relaxing near the water! You can definitely find better quality Greek food, however, the scenery was what we valued the most! My visit to Santorini Island in August 2010 was nothing short of spectacular! 🌟 This beautiful island is a true gem in the Aegean Sea, renowned for its stunning sunsets, unique architecture, and breathtaking landscapes. From all the places I've traveled to, Santorini holds a special place in my heart for its sheer beauty and charm. The island's iconic white-washed buildings with blue domes are perched on cliffs overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the sea 🌊. Walking through the narrow, winding streets of towns like Oia and Fira, you can't help but be captivated by the picturesque views at every turn. The sunsets here are legendary, painting the sky with vibrant hues of orange, pink, and purple as the sun dips below the horizon 🌅. Santorini's beaches are also unique and beautiful. The Red Beach, with its striking red cliffs and sands, and the black sand beaches of Kamari and Perissa offer a distinctive and memorable beach experience 🏖️. The contrast between the dark volcanic sands and the clear blue waters is truly mesmerizing. Exploring the island, you’ll find numerous charming shops, cafes, and restaurants. The local hospitality is warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home. While wandering the streets, don’t miss out on the local crafts and souvenirs that capture the essence of Santorini. The island is also rich in history and culture. A visit to the ancient city of Akrotiri, often referred to as the "Minoan Pompeii," provides a fascinating glimpse into the island's past. The archaeological site is well-preserved and offers an intriguing look at life in ancient times. Getting around Santorini is easy, whether you choose to rent a car, take local buses, or simply walk around the charming towns. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as some areas can be quite hilly and require a bit of climbing. 🏞️🚶♂️ If you’re looking for a destination that combines natural beauty, rich history, and a touch of romance, Santorini Island is the perfect choice. 🌴🌺 From solo travelers to couples and families, there's something for everyone to enjoy. I can't wait to return to Santorini and create even more unforgettable memories.

The most beautiful and peaceful experience ever. We were on a lovely catamaran with private chef, captain and personal tour guide. The meal was exquisite with bottomless wine 🥂, the Greek salad 🥗 was so fresh the hues of green, red and purple that caused me to salivate! The feta was incomparable to what we buy here in the states! The red beach iron stained hues from ancient volcanic eruption was captivating. The hot springs with snorkeling and pockets of warm water felt amazing!

Rozwój turystyki i związana z nim działalność budowlana mocno wpływa na naturalny krajobraz wyspy. I to widać. Cykladzkie wyspy powstały w wyniku ruchów tektonicznych. Kaldera Santorini jest fenomenalnym przykładem formacji geologicznej i przyrodniczej. Około 1600 lat temu erupcja wulkanu spowodowała poprzerywanie linii brzegowej okręgu i niemal całkowite zniszczenie osad ludzkich. Zatopiła część wyspy, a te pozostałe powyżej powierzchni morza lądy przykryła grubą warstwą popiołu. I zapoczątkowała niezwykły rozwój wysp w sensie przyrodniczym i geograficznym. Obecnie kaldera to rozłożyste zlewisko, przypominające misę o średnicy 12 na 7 km, o głębokości dochodzącej do 400 m. Brzegi kaldery stanowią strome ściany o wysokości do 330 m n.p.m. Santorini można podziwiać z wielu miejsc na wyspie i z każdego wygląda spektakularnie. Średnica 10 km gwarantuje jej tytuł jednej z największych kalder na świecie. Wyjątkowa morfologia terenu sprawia, że archipelag robi spektakularne wrażenie. Zbudowane na klifach miasteczka zachęcają obłędnymi widokami. Wyspa jest pełna niespodzianek, tajemnic i historii. Przyjedź i pozwól, by ci je pokazała :)
