Today morning I again visited Biju Patnaik Energy park and found it is open for public after renovation. The park is rejuvenated to a new look with beautiful gardens and new landscape. It is a unique place to get knowledge of various natural renewable energy like solar energy, tidal energy, geothermal energy and hydroelectricity that are used to run machines and equipment we use in our daily life.Geothermal energy can be used to produce electricity likewise tidal waves can also be used to electricity. Ofcourse solar energy is used to run the different equipment like solar distillation to convert normal water to battery grade distilled water. Solar water heater, solar cooker, solar water heating system, solar propelled water Kiosks and solar pv pump which can be used for irrigation. Solar drier and solar swimming pool is seen in this park. For children's amusement conveyor belt propelled slides and normal swing are there. All lights during night is by solar energy. Conference hall is air-conditioning for which electricity is used. Entry fee is Rs 10/- per person and the timing is 10 AM to 5PM. Monday is weekly off. The authority may replace the bilingual information brochure with schematic diagrams displayed in the glass covered frames as these look shabby...
