First of all kudos to all those who are behind this great initiative to take science much closer to our younger generation!!
Here comes the Pros and Cons:
Pros: *Nice display and experiments available for all kids and adults alike *Very engaging and informative staff *Rest rooms maintained well
Cons: *No Cafe inside - If restaurant/ Cafe available inside, it will save more than 1 hour just for going out for food in between museums visits (We were allowed to go out after Car museum and before entering Experimenta )
*No Re-entry possible. Once entered need to complete all the area (which takes minimum 3 hours to max 4 hours). This restriction can be avoided and simply they can provide unbreakable bands or use stamping methods to avoid misuse of entry tickets
No proper AC across the Experimenta Museum. Only two enclosures has AC, that too operating until we complained multiple times.
*No hand bags are allowed even for ladies and no sanitary Napkin vending machines either, which is really very much concerning for the visitors and even those working women..
If the management/trusty cares to take these museums to the next level to be really useful for our younger generations, then we highly recommend to consider correcting these issues at...
Read moreThis campus is named GD Museums which hosts three different museums: Experimenta Science Center, GD Car Museum GD Science Museum
Tickets cost ₹250 per head (150 for kids) for Experimenta. There are combo discounts if we visit two or three museums in one go. We managed to see only Experimenta which took around 3 and half hours to complete. Will definitely visit the other two museums too (approx 2 to 3 hrs for both).
Likes Experiments are organized very well, encouraging visitors to try them out Covers variety of experments from science, math, sound, light, air, water etc Staff are polite and helpful all the time Restaurant inside the campus (with a catch, see in Cons list below). Food (non veg) was decent and priced reasonably. Cloak room to store our valuables (handbags not allowed inside) Car/bike parking available at no cost (approx 20 cars capacity)
Dislikes Ventilation could be better (there was no air conditioning during our visit) Cannot take breaks in the middle of visit (say for a coffee, snack or meal). Plan to eat before entering or after (~3 hours is a lot of time, especially for kids) Given the long visit times, it would be nice if they had a small snack/coffee bar...
Read moreThis is a great practical playground for children, school students, families and anyone interested in science to see, listen to, interact and enjoy around hundred interactive experiments and learn in detail about the scientific concepts we have learnt through books. Although few experiments are very simple, there are a good bunch of interesting one which allow you to experience how scientific concepts apply to the real world, and have a nice time while doing so. It's important to read or listen to the staff explaining about the experiments, if you want to fully enjoy them.
Even for those who don't know much about science, there are some experiments which are interesting and funny, and you might learn a thing or two if you put some effort. Personally, it helped me revive few concepts I learnt during school and college days.
Here are some experiments which I personally found to be interesting:
Tornado, whirlpool generator Brain wave game Animation maker Mirror and optical...
