La Cabana Rooftop Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Central Zone

We visited this beautiful rooftop restaurant for dinner last week & here's our review for the food we tried, their service & ambiance 👇🏻

🌸 PALLIPALAYAM CHICKEN BAO - Traditional Chettinad styled Pallipalayam Chicken stuffed in steamed bao buns served with yum chutney & mung beans. This one literally tasted like the one my mum makes at home & I was on cloud nine while eating it. Anyone would fall in love with this spicy delicious chicken starter that tastes like the essence of Tamil culture 👌🏻

🌸 KARAIKUDI LAMB REVOLT - Mesmerized by the authenticity of the way this one was made, once again after the first starter. Roasted lamb fry cooked with Chettinad spices served in wonton cups. Well balanced yet strong earthiness. It was full of flavour n juicy 💯

🌸 HOT CHICKEN LEGS - Fiery juicy fried chicken legs with green, white & red dripping sauce. Which meat eater wouldn't like it? It was made to perfection n tasted absolutely delightful 🍗

🌸 SPICY BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA - Thin crust pizza topped with BBQ'd chicken chunks, onions & bell peppers with the right amount of cheese & BBQ sauce. It was smokey, rich, vibrant & tasted insanelyyy good as it packs a lot of flavour in it. I personally felll so hardly in love with this as I have a thing for thin crust smokey pizzas. The crust had the right texture neither too crisp nor too soft/soggy. Perfect for indian tastebuds 🍕

🌸PAAN & GULKAND CHEESECAKE - Cheesecakes are my favourite, anyday. This paan infused Cheesecake took my breath away with its droolworthy creamy soft texture & the right amount of sweetness🍰

🌸 IRUTTU KADAI HALWA WITH RICOTTA CHEESE - BREATHTAKING is the word for this. Literally mind blown by the way, the very well known & everyone's favourite Tirunelveli Iruttu Kadai's Halwa was made with a twist by wrapping it inside filo pastry sheet, served with ricotta cheese & coconut foam; alongside (PAZHANI) Panchamirdham panna cotta. Should I say more? The name itself says it all!! And please look at its image above to see how mouth-watering good it is to even look at. It's literally a dessert to die for ❣️

🌸 TENDER COCONUT MOUSSE - Creamy tender coconut mousse with coconut water n coconut chunks served in coconut shell itself. Light yet scrummy 👌🏻the portion is sufficient for 2 ppl easily. Must try dessert for ppl who are fond of coconut flavour in desserts.

🍹ORANGE BLOSSOM - An absolute bliss of a drink with a base of pure Orange juice🍊, topped with Blue Curacao 💙 & some of their other secret ingredients that makes the drink a stunner. I personally love anything that has orange in it. This drink had a sweet flavour with a subtle bitter finish. Loved it the most, it was amazingly refreshing 👌🏻

🍸PINK LADY - Litchi & Cranberry base light drink that stimulates the taste buds with its combination of sweet n tart taste with slight floral hint in it. It was so rozy & rich for a perfect dinner meal 🍽️

Their food was excellent & flawless. Traditional, authentic & true to its originality. Especially the desserts are so unique & definitely worth a very spl mention. One can visit them only for desserts n return by never getting disappointed. My most favourite was the Iruttu Kadai Halwa with Ricotta Cheese. Never in my life I've eaten something like this. Sooooo good man, really sooo good!

Service - Andrew who served our table was very humble, extremely professional & on point when it comes to suggesting the dishes or explaining about their food.

Ambiance - Extremely gorgeous, most finest decor is used for this place. The restaurant that's on the rooftop next to the pool creates a lovely vibe for any kinda occasion/candle light dinner 🍽️ perfect place to surprise your loved ones or even for a get-together/ family gathering! On the whole our experience was exceptionally good. We will definitely...

THINK ABOUT IT BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO GO TO THIS PLACE..!

Firstly, VERY EXPENSIVE... The price they charge for that quality and quantity of food is totally unacceptable!

The Beverages that they serve are not 100% alcohol... I'm 100% sure that the liquor that they provide is mixed up with water or something. The only beverage that we can get without any adulteration is beer cos it is sealed. And that is heavily expensive, KF-₹ 550 i reckon (SERIOUSLY). I don't want to get started on the cocktails and pitchers they serve 😂 I'm pretty sure the barista is not an experienced person. The mix was "horrendous", 80% ice cubes... You people guess how it would have been... The smokes, charges are RIDICULOUS!!!

Finally, the food was just OK... Had to wait for like 20-30 minutes to get the order... And not to mention the service was horrible.. We paid the bill and went to the restroom... When we came back to the table and the table was cleared... And some food we ordered was cleared... When questioned about it they said "since you paid the bill we cleared". We were the only group who paid a hefty amount that day.. After 10-15 minutes of conversation they just gave us a small quantity of briyani 😂😂

To the Management - I'm OK and completely understand the cost of each item that you have in your menu. But please give justice to the price we pay by providing proper food and beverages without any adulteration...

To People - I'm pretty sure that you can find 10 different alternatives for this place... Just because it is "Rooftop" doesn't justify that you pay soo much to be in this place where they are making way more profits!! Or if you have surplus money lying around then you can just spend it here just to show off 😜

I'm 100% NEVER GONNA SET FOOT IN THIS...

We visited La Cabana Rooftop Restobar with family on a light drizzling Sunday evening. Table was booked through ‘District’ app and the valet parking in Park Elanza hotel spared the hassle for a parking space.

The ambience was fantastic with cozy lighting – we chose a table in the lower level of the rooftop. The flowing water setup built into the table presents a unique, exotic, nature-inspired vibe creating a relaxed setting. Kids enjoyed the mini-waterfall setup in the table – need to keep an eye on them though. The restaurant offers a panoramic city elevating the dining experience.

We ordered Infused Chicken, Mutton & Chicken Biryani. Infused chicken was sumptuous, perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. Biryani was delicious and well-prepared, with great flavors and served in generous portions. From the desserts, we tried the Puttu Ice Cream, which was a delicious finish to the meal.

The bar menu had limited choice of beers, drinks and cocktails and over priced as well.

Service was remarkable – prompt, attentive and friendly – checking in regularly and offering helpful dish suggestions. Special mention to Yathisa.

Would recommend reserving a table in advance, especially on weekends

Overall, it was a pleasant, laid-back dining experience but food prices were a bit steep. Nevertheless, definitely worth trying for a relaxed hangout family...
