Title: A Spiritual Sojourn to Sree Puthiyakavu Bhagavathy Temple, Kollam As I embarked on my journey to Kollam, a city in Kerala, India, I was filled with anticipation and excitement. My destination was the revered Sree Puthiyakavu Bhagavathy Temple, a sacred shrine dedicated to the goddess Bhagavathy. Little did I know that this visit would be a profoundly enriching experience, one that would leave an indelible mark on my soul. Upon arriving at the temple, I was struck by its serene ambiance and picturesque surroundings. The temple's architecture, a blend of traditional Kerala style and Dravidian influences, was a marvel in itself. The intricate carvings and sculptures adorning the walls and pillars were a testament to the skill and devotion of the artisans who crafted them. As I entered the sanctum sanctorum, I was enveloped by an aura of peace and tranquility. The deity, Sree Puthiyakavu Bhagavathy, radiated an aura of benevolence and compassion, her presence palpable and reassuring. I offered my prayers, seeking blessings and guidance, and felt a sense of solace wash over me. The temple's history and legends only added to its allure. The story of the goddess's manifestation and her role as a protector and guardian of the faithful resonated deeply within me. The temple's connection to the nearby river and the surrounding landscape only served to reinforce its significance as a sacred site. As I explored the temple grounds, I was struck by the devotion and fervor of the pilgrims who thronged the temple. Their faith and dedication were a reminder of the power of spirituality and the human quest for connection with the divine. In conclusion, my visit to Sree Puthiyakavu Bhagavathy Temple was a truly transformative experience. It was a poignant reminder of the beauty and significance of India's rich cultural heritage and the enduring power of faith and spirituality. As I departed, I carried with me memories of a place that would forever hold a special place in my heart, and a sense of peace and tranquility that would stay with me for a long time to come.

Devi temple, well maintained, nice and peaceful, plenty of footfalls during rituals. Has a shop within to get temple related items. Has a flower shop outside for those who might want to get flowers for the temple or otherwise. Two minutes walking distance from the railway station. Has a large bannian tree and auditorium inside the compound. Besides the main Devi idol there's Ganesha and Durga within the temple and within the compound there are plenty of upadevathas like Lord Shiva, Hanuman, Navagrahas etc. Daily annadhan is also available during afternoon.

Calm and spiritual atmosphere at the centre of the busy city. You can feel the mind refreshing and absolute energy pumps. Rahukalanarangavilakku Puja is held every Tuesday, and several special poojas and also the Navaratri festival and the famous Ponkala Festival in Kumbha month are happening here. You can easily reach it – it is located near to Kollam Railway Station.

Kollam Puthiyakavu Bhagavathi Amman Temple is a truly divine place, filled with spiritual energy and tradition. The temple is well-maintained, and the atmosphere is peaceful, making it perfect for prayer and reflection. The presiding deity, Bhagavathi Amman, is worshipped with great devotion, and the rituals are conducted in an authentic and heartfelt manner.

The temple comes alive during festivals like Meena Bharani, which is celebrated with vibrant processions, traditional art forms like Theyyam and Thottam, and a deep sense of community. The locals are warm and welcoming, and the temple volunteers are always helpful.

Whether you're a devotee or simply someone looking to experience Kerala’s rich temple culture, this place is worth a visit. It's not just a place of worship, but a cultural and spiritual landmark in Kollam.

Highly recommended for anyone...

Temple is serene though it's in busy road and railway station near by . Always a bhagawathi devotee but it's management needs to concentrate on anadanam distribution, these people have their own favorite people and treat others as worthless. I booked special pooja for navaratri and we had the privilege to get the prasadam without any que . One person at prasadam counter treated an elderly lady very rudely ,it was heartwrenching to see disgracing that old mother that too on navaratri . Hope management look into the matter and take appropriate steps to manage crowd and distribute prasadam without any chaos...
