Mondays are fun days. Well not for many but for us we have holiday and the restaurants are empty and so are the roads leading to them especially at lunchtime. One such place we happened to visit on Monday was Huber and Holly. We reached there at lunchtime as Monday is our lazy day and we were lucky to have the well-lit place all to ourselves. At least for a while.
Food- We were hungry and doesn’t matter how attractive the ice cream looked inside the machine we had to go for the food first. They have a variety of snacks and fast food items to choose from but our choices were generic and simple. Pizza and Pasta. What does one do when both can't agree on which pizza toppings to order and want different ones. Well, Huber and Holly comes to our rescue. They have a half and half pizza system which enables one to have half of one and half of other flavour or toppings on a pizza. Bear in mind this is a vegetarian-only place. We decided to go half and half with Cheesy Mexican and Spicy Siracha pizza. The cheese melted in my mouth while the Siracha packed a punch. The pizza’s here are regular sized with a choice of thick (pan) or thin crust. We then moved on to the Pasta. I was craving for noodles for days and we mutually decided to go for Pesto Spaghetti pasta. Freshly grounded pepper did its magic and the pasta was loaded with olive oil heightening the taste. Our only concern with the pasta was other than the olive oil seasoning there was an excess of cooking oil at the base. Which was too heavy at the end. To help us with the Pasta and pizza we ordered a thick tornado shake, Berry Go ‘Round. It was loaded with trutty frooty. The shake wasn’t too sweet and heavy. The berry flavour along with chunks of berry fruit and trutty frooty was a gentle and pleasant experience. To end our visit we had to focus on the main, the ice cream. We tasted all the available flavours and made it even more difficult for us to choose. We ended up going for Charcoal lychee and Belgian Chocolate. The Charcoal lychee is a must have flavour. The darkness gives it an amazing texture and one can actually taste the charcoal flavour with a hint of lychee lingering on your tongue. The Belgian chocolate is rich and top it off with some salted crumbs and the combination is heavenly. They have 20+ toppings to choose from and sauces to add from above. But have the Charcoal lychee ice cream straight without any add on. We tried the Belgian Chocolate with salted crumbs and caramel sauce and the combination worked fine all the way till the tummy.
Ambience- The place is clean and spotless. They have a very colourful and elegant décor which suits a parlour. Wooden table to sit on and glass view to the ice cream station and the street outside lits up this to a comfortable and bright ambience.
Service- Service is prompt and the attendee is polite in alerting you of your orders. Overall- Easy to find place on North Main Street which lives up to one’s expectations. If not for food surely try there Charcoal Lychee ice cream. Also, we had to take a...
Read moreHuber and Holly, the newest addition to the city's ever growing list of ice cream parlours and dessert destinations, has indeed arrived with a bang in the posh Koregaon Park area. The place offers a diverse range of premium ice creams and is surely going to give a tough competition to the existing players.
🔺AMBIENCE (4/5): The place, although small, feels quite sophisticated and and well lit. Clean, hygienic, spick and span with light colors used in the adornment of walls, the frames and trivia on them adds to the charm and gives it a quirky look.
🔺FOOD (5/5): I totally loved everything I had here.
✔️FRIES AND NACHOS: We started off with foot long fries and nachos. The foot long fries with peri peri and cheese are a nice addition to the menu and are something unique that isn't available at most places. The fries had a good taste and the peri peri added was the perfect amount to give them the zing. The nachos were served with plethora of melted cheese that made them heavy on the stomach and had fresh jalapeños that gave it a nice hot taste.
✔️ALL FUDGED UP SHAKE: This gooey, chocolatey shake is sure to please your taste buds and enliven your soul. It was thick, creamy, tasty and filling. The chocolate flavour was optimum and the fresh whipped cream on top helped balance the heavy chocolate.A must try!
✔️ICE CREAMS: This place has the most amazing ice creams I've had in Pune. They have a lot of unique flavors and are not hesitant to offer a taste for as many as you want until you decide on one. Some different and unique flavours served here are black lichi and coffee oreo etc. They have something called as creations that are basically two scoops of 2 different or same flavours with a choice of 3 toppings out of the 28 toppings they serve like nutty pralines, hazelnuts, mini macarons, roasted almonds, gulab gulkand etc. I tried charcoal black litchi with golden chocolate ice cream and I was simply blown away by the taste of it. The charcoal litchi felt so fresh and fruity, just like a fresh fruit while the golden chocolate was perfect in the texture and flavor. The added toppings were the cherry on the cake giving it a nice crunch and accentuating the taste even more. Then we tried the hazelnut and Belgian chocolate flavors which again amazed me to bits. The Belgian chocolate here is unlike I've had elsewhere with the smoothest texture in an ice cream and had perfectly dark, rich taste.I also had a blueberry icecream cheesecake and a hazelnut rocker ice cream pastry but didn't quite like them as they felt a bit hard and frozen.
🔺SERVICE (5/5): The service is absolutely delightful. They let you taste as many flavours as you want until you decide one and the manager is warm and friendly too.
🔺VALUE FOR MONEY (5/5): The place gives a premium ice cream experience and the charges justify themselves as the quality is unparalleled...
