Pallavaram Lake — Attraction in Tamil Nadu

I live very next to this Periya Eri. Earlier it was in a dilapidated state and later, even though late, municipality had desilted the northern part of the lake and made it better. A walking path is made on the eastern side of the lake which something (not exactly) like a dam. More beautification work is happening and hope it will become a better and clean lake in the near future. There are some plans to make it a small tourist attraction with some boating facility, but not sure when will it happen. Hoping...

Badly maintained lake. Pallvaram RADIAL road bifurcated the lake into two half. Unfortunately the government agencies have not planned a culvert under the road which resulted in a southern half without water and northern half with water. The lake is being desilted after a prolonged dispute. The pace of desilting is extremely slow. Since the last monsoon season was a flop, there was no big damage. The bund on the Eastern side has been strengthened and it is a nice walking track now. Sewage discharge into the lake needs to be blocked. There is no progress on the Southern side...
