Faruuzi is on of those restaurants that came to chromepet before the boom in the restaurant business in chennai and in no time it was a favorite arabian restaurant in the locality.. Good service and food were the main reason.. With vast menu it had something for everyone... But with time my visits to this restaurant were reduced and since corona i have never been there until recently..
During the recent visit i found this to be one of those that lost the plot in recent times.. To start with the maintenance took a big hit.. With no dining area in the Ground floor they even have stopped the lift operations.. We had to go to the 2nd floor and with us were few elders.. The dining area had shattered roof and not a good smell around.. The furniture was on the verge of collapsing.. Will think twice before entering..
The service was even worse.. Being a sunday the delay in food is acceptable but when questioned about the same the response was quite rude from the captains.. Filling of water was so miserly and none of the servers were welcoming..
The Menu was a huge disaster filled with starters and that half of what we asked was unavailable.. The Main couse was quite limited in options..
Ordered French fries and got a honey chili potato.. Though good in taste this was something that was shoved upon us..
Al Faham : This was one good dish of the meal.. Good chicken and well cooked too.. Though the sides were very less.. be it the salad or the hummus or mayo..
Schezwan Chicken Noodles : Quite a disappointment.. It was not at all spicy seemed like a colored noodles.. Chicken too was quite less..
Fried Rice : Ordered Chicken and Mushroom ones.. Both were decent in taste with less amount of chicken and mushroom respectively.. and to top it the rice was quite dry which made it hard to finish..
Chicken Dum Biryani : Decent to say the least.. The Meat was average with a slight spicy taste but would say was a bit extra tangy.. The sides especially the onion raita was not that great..
Naan : Only saving grace in the main course.. Were soft and tasted good.. The Cheese and garlic were better compare to the butter ones..
Gravies : Ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Mutton Rohanjosh.. The Mutton rohanjosh was a big disaster.. Too much color added in a watery gravy and very less meat for the price of almost 350rs.. The Chicken Tikka though good in taste the meat was nowhere close to tikka pieces..
Overall a bill amount of 4044rs.. The experience was something i would want to forget.. Less options, More waiting time, No welcoming attitude, Below average to average food, for the high prices.. Not something i...
Read more⭐ Terrible Experience — Not Worth Even a Visit!
We recently visited this restaurant for our office dinner with 40 members, and honestly, it was one of the worst dining experiences ever.
They served a biriyani that was worse than anything we’ve ever tasted — it had no salt, no flavor, and no basic quality. When we complained, even the manager and staff agreed that the taste was bad. Instead of replacing it, they took the same biriyani back, added salt, and brought it again. Who does that in a reputed restaurant? Completely unacceptable.
To make things worse, they insisted we shouldn’t pay via Dineout, saying they had already given us a 10–15% discount. Basically, they used the “discount” as an excuse to block our Dineout privilege, which is not fair at all. If the food was good, we wouldn’t even mind paying full — but after such a horrible experience, calling that a “discount” is an insult.
The pricing is just ridiculous —
2 Gulab Jamuns = ₹170
2 scoops of plain vanilla ice cream = ₹220 per head Seriously, who charges like this for such poor quality food?
Our total bill came to ₹32,000 for 40 people, which is outrageous considering the taste and service. When we raised our concern, they argued with us for 30 minutes before reluctantly reducing just ₹1,000 from the bill. We ended up paying in cash and leaving with a bitter experience.
Honestly, don’t waste your time or money here. If you want good food and proper service, go to Junior Kuppanna or if you’re vegetarian, visit Sangeetha. Even Dalchini (opposite to this place) offers better taste and respect for customers.
This place is miserable, overpriced, and completely mismanaged. 👎 Not...
Read moreI had prawn biryani, ghee rice, chicken Rogan Josh, and sizzling browny.
Food: It took some time to receive all the ordered items but it was worth it. Prawn biryani looked and tasted like freshly made. Prawn was cooked very well and tasted good. One of the best prawn biryani I have tasted. The amount of rice was stomach-filling for one. Rate : ₹350 Ghee rice was very well cooked and amount of ghee was ample. Taste was good as well. Rate: ₹150 Chicken Rogan Josh tasted the same as butter chicken but it was my first time so I don't know if it has similar ingredients. Rate: ₹330 Sizzling Brownie with ice cream was very nice. The presentation was very great. Brownie was big but it was given with one scoop of vanilla ice cream. Hot chocolate was poured on it and extra was kept in the table if we needed some. Rate: ₹280 Water bottle was charged with ₹25.
Ambience: It had many free tables and they are maintained very clean. Washroom could have been better because tap wasn't working good. It was clean but some taps and soap dispensers wasn't working. Air blowers to dry your hands was working very good.
Parking: Restaurant is situated at main road you have to park your vehicle at the side of service roads. The space was very low though. It could have been improved with dedicated parking space. Parking cars wouldn't be problem but have to be parked at...
