Salem RR Biryani — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Salem RR Biriyani. I decided to try their biriyani for lunch today, but it turned out to be a big mistake. The biriyani served looked awful, with a very off-putting consistency. The rice was way too sticky, making me question its freshness.

When I asked the server about it, he assured me that it wasn’t rotten and that the sauce was good. However, as soon as I started eating, the masala felt sticky and tasted terrible. Despite the server's assurances, I forced myself to finish the meal. Big mistake.

Shortly after, I felt nauseous and struggled to drive home. I am seriously concerned that the chicken might have been rotten or adulterated. This experience was not just unpleasant but alarming. I am considering filing a complaint with the food authority officers regarding this.

I simply love Salem RR Biriyani restaurant. I ordered chicken biriyani (Rs.200) & egg rice (Rs.120). The quantity was far more than other restaurants and also the taste is great. The biriyani was prepared with basmati rice. The rice was cooked well and the chicken tastes good and boiled well. It didn't troubled my stomach. The goli soda (local carbonated drink) costing Rs.20 is a great choice here. I recommend a goli soda after your meal. As stated by the restaurant owner "Tamilselvan" ayya, the servers treat all customers equal irrespective of their order quantity and no one forces to buy a side dish or extras (ala carte) etc. This is a hard to find thing in today's non veg hotels, where they try to push extras into customers plate. I ordered one mutton biryani and one plain biryani from Salem RR Biriyani Unavagam through Zomato, but I received two plain biryanis. There was not a single piece of mutton in the parcel, and the food was very cold and not fresh. It seemed old, with no heat at all.

I tried to complain to the hotel directly, but they did not attend to my phone calls. Additionally, I contacted Zomato support, and they informed me that the hotel claimed they delivered the correct items. This is completely false.
