MONEY WENT MISSING
Went to Reborn Signature for a massage on 16th Sep for a walk-in appointment at 3PM. I requested a Balinese massage with aromatherapy scrub, totalling 2 hours.
The assigned masseur brought me upstairs and asked me to change out. As I hadn't been to Batam for more than 5 years, I totally had no idea how spas or massage places operate. I followed her instructions and changed out. I hung my clothes together with my handbag on the wall hooks provided. In my handbag, I had my wallet, passport, 2 handphones, and other belongings. I brought only SGD notes as spare cash with me since all expenses would be paid by hubby. I specifically remembered counting out the cash at home and knew exactly how many notes I brought as I didn't intend to bring much SGD to change to IDR but will be using my credit card. The SGD notes were just for backup. Just when the massage started, my phone rang, and I requested for my handbag, so the masseur took it down from the wall hook for me so that I could take my ringing phone out of my bag. I kept my phone nearby thereafter just in case my hubby called again. The masseur at that point still didn't ask me to keep my belongings in a locker. I assumed she hung my handbag back on the wall as my eyes were covered throughout the treatment.
Halfway during massage, another group came in, I heard one patron (can tell she was a Singaporean) asking for a locker. I suddenly realised that the masseur didn't tell me to put my belongings in a locker. From that moment onwards, I felt something wasn't right. After my scrub ended, I quickly asked about the locker, and at that moment, the masseur then said, "Oh ya," and showed me the locker, which was just under the bed. I wanted to check my wallet but was asked to quickly go and shower, so I had no choice but to just lock up and did as told.
After treatment, I was busy texting my hubby to pick me up, so I didn't check my wallet. I asked him for IDR to give as tips, but the masseur had gone out of Reborn. We even purposely waited until she was back to hand her the tip, but she didn't seem to be happy at all to see me. Nor did she say thanks for the tip. My hubby and I were puzzled by her attitude and thought perhaps she felt our 20k IDR tip was too little for her. When I went back to my hotel and checked my handbag and wallet later, I discovered that a S$50 note was missing. As I didn't want to accuse anyone wrongly, I decided that I would go back to Singapore first and check my money before jumping to any conclusion.
Now that I'm back in Singapore on 17th Sep, I double checked my money and notes at home and can confirm that a S$50 note is indeed missing from my wallet as I hadn't used any cash in Batam at all since my hubby paid all the expenses.
I'm sharing this experience so that whoever is going for any massage or spa, whether at Reborn or elsewhere, to always remember to care off your valuables to your family and to ask about lockers or security protocol. It was an oversight on my part, and I accepted my mistake. However it still marred my holiday.
As for the massage, the treatment was average but acceptable for the price paid. I feedbacked politely when asked by the customer service staff that I felt the Balinese massage didn't really relax me as compared to the massage I do regularly in Singapore. As such, with this experience, I'm unable to give a good...

I've booked for a 3-hr massage here as I have had a good experience here the first time. A day before, I've requested the same masseuse as he is good with his skills.
During my 2nd visit, I've found out that my money in my phone wallet was partially missing and I also realised that my phone cover has oily finger prints on it. It was obvious as my phone cover is made of leather and its black colour.
Before this incident, I clearly counted the cash I had in my phone wallet. It was Rp657 before I paid the amount which is Rp343. After the deduction of the massage, I should have Rp314.
After the massage session, I checked my wallet as I initially wanted to tip the masseuse. To my surprise, I had only Rp164 in my phone case.
Next, I approached the counter and asked regarding of the lost money which is a total of Rp150 and I explained the whole incident.
One of the counter ladies insisted that if the staff really did a dishonest act,he would have taken the full amount in my phone case.
I felt that it's common sense that if the staff took the full amount, i would have noticed it right away.
The lady was manipulating her words to make me at fault instead of the staff.
Ms Shelly, the Head of Marketing Promotion approached and tried to clarify this issue by offering her name card so she could follow-up with me after I went back to Singapore.
I truly appreciate of what Shelly did to settle this case but I felt so disappointed with the way the management handled my situation. I keep inquiring about the updates but no actions were taken on my end.
In conclusion,I felt that the staff should have told me where to put my valuables instead of just keeping quiet and I just hang my pants and put my valuables inside.
I sincere of what had happened to me and I'm here to review of this dishonest...
