Unfortunately our birthday booking on the19th of March did not turn out as expected. I deeply regret not noticing the booking policy at the end of the confirmation email, as I wouldn't book a table here. We brought a small, single balloon and we were informed right away we can not place it up on the table. We pushed it back in the bag, but that wasn't good enough, as they took it away to the room behind the reception, like the weapon of the mass destruction. We made another disastrous decision of bringing a tiny cake for my fussy 11 year old. That's not allowed, but it wasn't stated in the booking email. I'm working in hospitality myself so I understand the allergens issues in the kitchens so we offered that we can have a cake straight from the box after the meal, and the cake doesn't need to travel to the kitchen or bar. That wasn't allowed. Thanks God nobody brought flowers as they are on the forbidden list also. All that have removed the celebration factor out of the birthday party. We tried to understand the point of all the restrictions but that really spoiled the atmosphere for the rest of the evening. We did not spill our frustration out onto any member of staff as we know they are not responsible for all those pointless rules. We rushed through the meal and left for another restaurant where the cake wasn't a problem. We used to love to visit the bar but will definitely not return. I think the whole point of going out to bars, pubs and restaurants is to have a fun night out, which is not only about food or only about the place. It's the whole package of having a good time with your friends and family in the welcoming environment. We can only guess that insurance companies have something to do with it, and if that is the case in few years down the line we won't be able to step in to any premises without signing a...

The bar, accessed through a garden of lush, riverside plantings, is a tall and handsome room bathed in natural light. It is brought to life by glamorous light fixtures, vibrant textiles, and rich Mediterranean tiling, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
I highly recommend the terrace for its relaxing and pleasant ambiance. Adorned with signature floral decorations, it offers a stunning view of the River Lee, perfect for enjoying your brunch.
I ordered the Ballcotton Smoked Salmon & Crab Royale on soda bread with a poached Riverview hen's egg and dill Hollandaise (€15.50). The flavors were exquisite and beautifully balanced.
My friend chose the Classic Caesar Salad with rosemary croutons, aged Parmesan, Quigley's smoked lardons, and a poached Riverview hen’s egg (€16.50 + chicken €5). She loved it! It was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly executed.
For dessert, I indulged in the Chocolate Sphere (€10.50)… and what a delightful experience! The presentation and taste were both exceptional.
I highly recommend this incredible place for its remarkable brunch and the outstanding service provided by the waitstaff. They clearly take great care of their customers and are always attentive.
Have a wonderful time and fall in love with the River...
Read moreGrill room at river lee club is only good to look at but the quality of food served is not the best. It was my daughter’s birthday and decided to book this place for dinner.honestly speaking the food tasted very bad and unhygienic except one main dish ‘whole dover sole’ which was served at last. ‘harissa gambas pil pil’ was served with digestive tract( did not devein)which could trigger severe allergy…..and was made in some smelly reused black oil.upon asking to the waiter why was this not deveined, he answered this is how Europeans eat. Not mentioning the name of the waiter. ‘Chicken karage’ had bad smell inside as I could see blood spots inside marination and smells terrible as it was not washed. “soft baked bread”was served without butter and not toasted or no dill as mentioned in the menu. It was a bad experience and our evening was ruined, in the process the general manager stepped inn and tried to fix it but if the chef is not talented and not of high ranking the GM’s efforts were not justified.also the waiters just drop the food on the table they are not trained to serve properly.i guess they are students hired for part time jobs but...
