Location: kimmage. Maybe? Atmosphere: 21% Oxygen Staff: not unfriendly. Spend time talking to regulars. Ask too many questions regarding how I'd like coffee. Found this intimidating decided against coffee. Ordered: the spicey special and a roast beef sandwich. Despite the name only 50% of our sandwiches contained pickles. NB this was as advertised. The spicey special wasn't specially spicey however the beef was most certainly roasted. The sandwiches as can be seen in the evidentiary photos attached below were welll presented. And while I wouldn't make a pilgrimage to eat one of these sandwiches if you're in the area you should go. I state this as a sandwich pilgrim myself. It was too windy outside but I decided not to complain about the pickle I was in as on further thought I don't believe the owner or the staff have any power over the weather. If they do by chance and are reading this I'd appreciate less wind in future Yours kindly, S and B. Incidentally me and B are friends and not lovers.

So ok, the food is really nice here. That was expected after reading all the reviews. However, I found the waiters to be rude. They didn’t give us the time to look at the menu. They kept asking what we wanted even when we hadn’t even opened the menu. They couldn’t smile or anything either. I didn’t feel welcome at this restaurant. After our 3 meal course we ended up chatting a bit and drinking wine and then again the waiters got impatient telling us there were other guests coming. So, yes the food was great but the experience of eating here wasn’t.

We went for coffee to support a local business in our neighborhood. Something wasn't communicated and our order was missed, but when we asked about the coffees they brought them right away. The table we had was very wobbly. So I would suggest checking the condition of the table before choosing one. Other than those small hiccups the latte's were hot and made perfect. They serve breakfast and lunch daily and have large selection of pastries.

I have been going to Pickles for many years and unfortunately, the standard is not what it was when I first went. I feel they haven't kept up with the competing other options we now have locally. Don't get me wrong the sandwiches are big hearty portions on fresh bread. I will go back for sandwiches from time to time now but where I see Pickles has fallen is the atmosphere, you go inside order and stand in a cold gaping room that was once a nice little cafe. Although I do go for sandwiches from time to time I have stayed away from the coffee, as it is awful, I’m not sure if they burn the coffee or the machines need cleaning but I would recommend the owners go and have a coffee in any of the coffee shops that have opened up locally and compare...

Gone a bit more pricey after their renovations. Visited yesterday and ordered a tea and scrambled egg n toast@ €850. The toast which was usually thick cut slices were no more as youd thimk they were cut with a laser they were so thinly cut,and i complained that the amount of egg was a lot to be desired as it was so small.the girl said they didnt use water in their scrambled egg thats why it was small!! but on brighter not she did bring me more egg. But i had finished my breakfast by then. I do like their coffee when im drinking coffees that is. I will return though,as a treat. As there much cheaper but not as nice places to eat around.actuall one is spoiled for chouce now these...
