Marchesi di Barolo historical cellars are located in the town of Barolo, in the building overlooking the Castle of the Marquis Falletti. The story of a wine cellar where, in the heart of the Langhe area and protected by gentle hills, a wine was born. This wine, as the French tradition suggests, was called Barolo like the town where it was produced for the first time. Great experience with Marchesi. It was a lot more commercialized compared to some of the smaller family estates. The tour provided sufficient information and Laura tried her best to leave us time to ask questions despite the fact that it was VERY busy at the winery.

The tasting was more experience compared to other places, but it was very professional and well-organized. We choose the 3 wines for 25EUR with 1 Barolo and 3 wines all Barolo for 30EUR among the 2 of us, so we ended up trying 6 wines for 55EUR. The wines were great, we LOVED Barolo Sarmassa among many other bottles. We ended up getting 7,8 bottles to go and in the end Laura also offered us to try the grappa and some other fortified wine. Wow, was für ein Weingut, was für eine Führung und was für eine tolle, sehr persönlich gestaltete Weinprobe. Es beginnt schon mit dem Gebäude und dem Weinladen. Sehr anspruchsvoll gestaltet. Die Kellerführung war sehr unterhaltsam gestaltet, mal ehrlich, wenn man sich schon mehre Weinkeller angesehen hat, treten irgendwann die Ausführungen zur Kellereitechnik in den Hintergrund, es sei denn man macht eine ökologische Ausbildung. Da macht doch ein wenig Theater auch Spaß und den möchte ich im Urlaub haben. Die Weinprobe hat mir sehr gut gefallen, weil sich unsere Bezugsperson den an seperaten Tischen platzierten Gruppen persönlich gewidmet hat und auf deren Anforderungen und Wünsche eingegangen ist. Ganz nebenbei: Die Weine sind hervorragend.

Wow, che cantina, che visita guidata e che degustazione fantastica e personalizzata. Si comincia già dall'edificio e dall'enoteca. Il design è molto sofisticato. La visita guidata alla cantina è stata molto divertente. Onestamente, quando si sono già visitate diverse cantine, a un certo punto le spiegazioni sulla tecnologia di vinificazione passano in secondo piano, a meno che non si stia seguendo una formazione ecologica. In questi casi, un po' di teatralità è divertente ed è proprio quello che cerco in vacanza. La degustazione mi è piaciuta molto, perché la nostra guida si è dedicata personalmente ai gruppi seduti a tavoli separati e ha soddisfatto le loro esigenze e i loro desideri. A proposito: i vini sono eccellenti.

Wow, what a winery, what a tour and what a fantastic, very personalised wine tasting. It starts with the building and the wine shop. Very sophisticated design. The cellar tour was very entertaining. Let's be honest, if you've seen several wine cellars, the explanations about cellar technology eventually fade into the background, unless you're studying ecology. A little theatre is fun, and that's what I want on holiday.
