Questo piccolo museo si trova all'interno del Castel Sant'Elmo, per la precisione nella sua sommità. E' di recentissima formazione, essendo stato inaugurato nel 2010. Contiene prevalentemente opere pittoriche di artisti vissuti nel XX secolo, quasi tutti locali. L'esposizione è cronologica e nel salone centrale ci sono anche opere non pittoriche. A farla da padrone è il futurismo, con Vincenzo Gemito, Emilio Notte ed anche Filippo Tommaso Marinetti. Völlig überraschend war für mich, auf dem Kastell Sant Elmo ein Museum zu finden, in dem Werke von neapolitanischen Künstlern des 19. Jahrhunderts oder solchen, die zu dieser Zeit in Neapel gewirkt haben, gezeigt wurden. Es ist nur eine kleine Ausstellung, trotzdem haben mich viele Werke sehr beeindruckt. Allerdings ist die Ausstellung ausgesprochen schlecht kuratiert, da sie für internationale Besucher/innen ohne Italienischkenntnisse keinerlei Informationen bereitstellt.
