A 20min ride with the 806 bus from Palermo and then a short walk to the “reserve”. Like the rest of Palermo, sadly litter strew everywhere.
Entering the “reserve” we were met with 3 quasi-quards (could’ve been someone’s weird uncles). First they said only I could enter as I am “pretty” and my husband must stay behind.
Then rolled their eyes and made a fuss when we wanted to pay by card. Said no card machine but then we wanted to leave so they miraculously discovered a card machine we paid with.
The actual reserve has badly kept roads with speeding scooters and as mentioned, a lot of debris and litter caked into the bushes.
Getting to the sea is tricky getting over the rocks.

Cons: • No food or drink vendors nearby, so you need to bring your own supplies. • Unfortunately, there’s quite a bit of litter left behind by visitors and scattered along the road. • The biggest downside: locals have blocked the road with a rope and charge people to pass. Since blocking access to a beach or national park is illegal, they claim it’s “private property.” That’s highly questionable, but it seems to work because much of the town is arranged this way—access to the sea is nearly impossible unless you pay.
Overall: The beach itself deserves five stars, but the experience with the locals was closer to one star. As they told us: “This is...

Amazing place. Blue and clear water. Rocks on the beach and high mountains nearby. Very busy cove but the water is magnificent. There is an...
