D2 Daniels — Restaurant in Palermo

We got into Mondello late and night and we're looking for food. D2 looked like they were closing but they were friendly and willing enough to accommodate a group of 6 of us. We only were able to order pasta or burgers, but this was no issue. We ordered 8 pasta for 6 people and assured them that we sure as hell would finish those bad boys. One of these pasta's was the Pistacho Lovers. Oh was it all about pistacho's. Great taste, great presentation, good noodles and most importantly wicked pistachios. 8.7/10 highly would recommend. The next pasta that was heavily ordered was the 4 cheese pistacho gnocchi. This was extravagant as well. The cheeses blended together perfectly and even featured a personal ball of burrata which was fantastic. Some say it's was so good and creamy that it was like eating a bowl of ice cream. Lastly the gnocchi served as little pillows as they were soft and doughy. 7.9/10 again highly would recommend. The last thing I want to talk about is the staff. They stayed with us and served us far past closing time. Not only was this genuinely appreciated by the crew but they made this no issue. They were laughing along and making jokes with us all the while. If you are in Mondello and want a good spot with tasty food and a fun and friendly staff, D2 Daniels...

The food was decent, but the service left a lot to be desired. Our server was unfriendly, rude, and unprofessional throughout the meal. When one member of our group took a moment too long deciding on a drink, the server simply walked away without saying anything — it then took an additional 10 minutes to get our drinks.

When we ordered our meals, one of us asked for the fish and chips, which was clearly listed on the menu. The server insisted it wasn’t available and even argued with us after we showed it to him in writing, both in English and translated into Italian. Had he explained that the item was out of stock, we would’ve understood, but instead he just dismissed us and walked off — without even taking the rest of the group's order.

As a result, our food came out in three separate batches, which was frustrating and disruptive. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch his name, but he was a younger man with black hair and glasses. We also noticed that other tables seemed to be having similar issues with him.

The best thing about this place is the decor — it’s beautifully done and sets high expectations. Sadly, the service and food don’t live up to that...

Worst experience of my life . Long story short: just don’t come here if you care about having a nice dinner and being treated like a human being. Worst service I’ve ever experienced in my life - and I have been to many different countries. we ordered pasta vongole as pictured here and got 1-3 vongole only. So we naturally kept asking for more but got ignored many times until at 11:40 pm the rude waiter comes and brings vongole that looks severely raw and is not mixed into the pasta. At that point not only have we lost our appetite looking at it, but also we have finished our dinner as it is so late already. When we try to explain to them our complaint, and try to get charged for a normal pasta rather than a vongole, they start yelling at us and cause a scene in the middle of the restaurant. The manager even calls me a “vafanculo” which is unacceptable behavior for any restaurant (even one that is as terrible as this one). They do not value their customers and they are very narrow minded and vulgar people. If you care about having a good night and being treated like a decent human being, I warn you … do not be tricked by Instagram...
