The food was excellent, the atmosphere was nice and the servers were friendly. Overall a good experience.
The service itself left a little bit to be desired though. One of our party asked for extra time to decide on their drink, and the server didn't come back until they took the food order. Food came out and it was good, yet still no drink. We had to get one of the younger staff running our food to get the drink. They also did not give us any oil/vinegar/salt/pepper for the bread starter(though we asked twice) until all of our food arrived for our main meal, and then took it away not even 5 minutes later and gave it to another table? Do they only have 1 bottle of olive oil/balsamic vinegar for the whole restaurant?? Very weird.
The main food dishes were excellent other then the spaghetti which had very watery sauce. The cannoli and tiramisu for desert were absolutely amazing!
Overall it was a great but slightly...
Read moreTerrible experience. The staff were kind and doing their best, they just weren’t equipped for the volume of customers. They stuck me and my 1 year old in a corner table crowded around other tables so we couldn’t move our chairs and the staff definitely forgot about us. By the time our food finally came, we were dissatisfied with the quality. They took so long we unfortunately had to leave because of the little one’s tantruming and just ate the food at home. The potato salad we got had raw potatoes, not edible; and the salad had no dressing or seasoning of any kind. Not even salt! The calamari was rubbery and our eggplant pasta had something in it that gave it a bad taste. I also noticed they kept sitting people down to their tables and moving them to different ones after they’d already been drinking or ordered. It was a chaotic environment and think they could do better if they...
Read moreDisappointing, pasta with anchovies was salty and had sugar as opposed to the original receipt that is really wine. Super salty (you should not add daily to a pasta that uses as main ingredient anchovies) and I’m drinking two bottles of water as I write this review. Salad of nonna had canned olives (really in Sicily , canned olives). Another tourist trap, but to be fair to Osteria Mondello they do just whatever every single other restaurant does in the area. Ripping people off without even pretending they want to serve quality food . At least the service is nice, that make for the two star as opposed to one, that is still what the...
