Corniglia — Attraction in Vernazza

Despite Corniglia station being right on the sea, there not much to photograph from access points around the station. The town is up a arduous hill, but there is a shuttle bus that runs back and forth and if you have the CT train pass, the bus is free, whew. Even if you don’t, it’s only half a euro. However there is a flatter walk that goes left as you walk up the hill. It would probably go all the way into town, but it’s far and steep. A few good views from there. We were advised to take the train (by the person who sold bus tickets to Riomaggiore, which would've been faster). The train was canceled, and the platform extremely crowded. We had to wait for over an hour, all the information was in Italian, and once the next train came it was so crowded that we couldn't get on. We had to wait another two trains before we could board. The infrastructure is definitely not made for the intense turism, I'd advise anyone to keep trekking to the next city instead of taking public transport...

Patrimonio UNESCO, antico borgo delle 5 terre, Corniglia sorge su un promontorio roccioso e si presenta come paese con vicoli stretti diroccati in collina. Da piazza Santa Maria si gode una panoramica suggestiva sul mare, sui terrazzamenti e i paesi vicini. La Chiesa di San Pietro segnalata come monumento storico merita una visita, dalla piazza antistante si può scattare qualche foto panoramica sul borgo. Ogni pertugio regala al visitatore immagini suggestive in un paese dove la pietra è stata molto usata nell' architettura del borgo per comporre scalinate, archi, parte delle pareti delle case, cantine trasformate in ristorante. Per le tante caratteristiche della località, Corniglia la consiglio vivamente. È possibile raggiungerla dalla stazione con un bus navetta oppure a piedi tramite percorso naturalistico con più di trecento gradini. Personalmente abbiamo optato per la navetta ma con più tempo a disposizione consiglierei l' utilizzo della corriera all' andata e il percorso a piedi al ritorno perché in quest'ultimo caso viene segnalata la possibilità di ammirare vedute panoramiche mozzafiato sul mare e sui terrazzamenti coltivati a vigne. Le navette passano ogni circa 10 Min e solitamente arrivano in due una dietro l' altra. Bellissima esperienza, questo borgo mi rimarrà nel cuore, con il suo fascino...
