Tourist trap where they will happily bill you for everything! From the outset the staff are rude. You have to ask for everything like oil salt and balsamic. The server got annoyed that we asked for these things. They only give bottled water- 3 euros, and I'm sure that they simply refill these with tap water as the lid isn't sealed, just popped on the bottle. Though we tried to ask about the water charge we couldn't get any answer twice. They charge for bread so it cost 5 euros for six small pieces of bread which they took away the last one and my plate though I hadn't finished yet, they're quick to seat u, take order thru don't wish to be helpful or anything, it's basically a rotating tourist trap restaurant as its next to the bus to the top as well. Filled with mainly tourists there. So we were pretty annoyed at having to pay 8 euros for bread, service and water. We would have preferred to order a drink or dessert but I couldn't get a waiter to order wine even! I questioned the bill and got met with little English, pretty funny that they understood when we were ordering!
The food did taste nice, I had the mussels with spaghetti and my mum had the bolognese, we ate there today. If you're in a hurry then it's fine but if you don't want to get a inflated bill perhaps ask or...
Read moreI wouldn't eat here if it were the last place in Cinque Terre as the staff were so rude. Before entering we asked if they had anything gluten free and they said they did, so we agreed to go in. When we went in, we were the only people inside, save 1 other couple, despite it being a rainy and busy day in town. I was starving. My partner went to the washroom while I ordered us coffees and looked at the menu. The only gluten free items they said they had that day were salads as everything else was marked unavailable. The wait staff asked me if I was going to order 5 times while my partner was in the washroom, and kept tsking when I said I needed more time. After sitting there for maybe 4 minutes my partner came back and we tried to order an entree for him and some fruit for me since they were impatient and I needed more time with the menu to see what I could do with the limited options. After I ordered the waiter violently snapped the menu shut in my face and said "no café! You go!" So, tears streaming down my face, I went to leave. At the door he said "You pay!". No food or drinks had been served so I wasn't sure what I was paying for. The coffees I ordered weren't even...
Read moreI was physically assaulted by a waiter.
My girlfriend fell and scraped and cut her hand and legs in several places on a hiking path nearby. We saw this restaurant - completely empty - with two waiters standing outside, and thought we could ask them if she could wash the cuts in her hand with soap. Regrettably, one of the waiters told us to go down the street to a public restroom instead, looking at his phone while talking. In frustration and disbelief I called out his bad behavior using some strong words, which I could have kept to myself, but when met which such blatant indifference and malice, that is not so easy. In response to my disapproval he physically assaulted me. I will not press charges as I do not have time to deal with such proceedings....
