Spacious and well laid out, with all the amenities you could ask for. Both the cold pools are really wonderful! The space is quite large and I wasn't sure where I was allowed to go the first time I went here, so I'll try to explain. There's a main area attached to the washing facilities that has two cold pools and some onsen pools, as well as an entrance to the sauna. There's a long black wall with water running down it that you can sit on in order to cook down slightly from the onsen but not get cold. However, there's also a door that leads to an open area where there are 3 deep Japanese style tubs, a foot bath, the entrance to the massage/spa area, and another entrance to the sauna. If you keep going past all of this (and the relaxation area) you get to another set of doors. Through there you'll find a huge hot tub, a very nicely decorated and quite large onsen pool, and two deep tubs with (I think) sake-making water in them. All in all, it's a great facility, and I think it's very cheap (¥450 at time of writing) for how much there is. Please be aware: there are several signs throughout the entrance and lobby stating that those with tattoos are...
Read moreAdditional information:. From April 1, 2023, the sauna, which used to be included in the bathing fee, has become a separate charge and 200 yen must be paid.
Located near Aizu-Wakamatsu Station, it is convenient for time adjustment during my trip. The hot water is pumped up from underground and is alkaline, leaving my skin smooth and smooth. It was like a large Japanese public bathhouse. The fee was inexpensive, 450 yen. An additional 280 yen is charged for a set of indoor clothes, a bath towel, and a pair of fiberglass towels. There are many bathtubs and a sauna, The water is not hot, so I enjoyed for long time. On the second floor, there are massage machines and Thai massage stores etc and on the third floor there is a restaurant where you can enjoy local cuisine. When you enter the building, there is a shoe box, and you exchange the key for a locker at the reception desk and pay the admission fee. We visited around 2:00 pm on a weekday, and there were...
Read moreThis onsen was a great place to relax and unwind after a day of walking. It was close to our hotel so we just walked there, but it has a paid parking lot and pricing is also quite cheap.
The entry fee is great value. You need to pay more if you want to use the sauna and get a towel. The front desk realised we spoke limited Japanese and brought out a book with all the simple questions needing to be asked about what we wanted/needed.
The baths themselves are clean and the water temperature is just the right temperature . It's hot enough to be soothing and able to relax for awhile without being so hot you end up looking like a cooked lobster.
We went at a time that was popular, around 6pm. It was busy but not so crowded you couldn't take a shower or fit into a hot tub. Plenty of space and no...
